  • Sure, sure, yet you might have one really big plant with a lot of fruit if they wouldn't all have to fight for the little soil you give them

  • Ah yeah, I get you now. The big fucker is moving to a pot indoors once the heatwave ends. The weakest can stay outside and see what happens.

  • So I picked the strongest two looking plants and gave them their own pots and did some radical pruning to hopefully make them bushy. Might have fucked that part up tho.

Planted lots and lots of scotch bonnet seeds in the strawberry pot so hopefully some of those will come up soon.

  • Too late to plant the seeds?

  • Assuming you're in the UK, and assuming you're not planting them just for fun, but because you like to have some chilies by the end of the summer..
    ..yes.

  • Oh yeah, not expecting any fruit until at least next season.

  • Well then you're quite early for next summer!

  • Having a go at making this, hoping it is as good as it sounds.

  • Those square iPhone pictures are moody as fuck!

  • ^ here're some more

Found our greengage plums are ripe, so hatched a plan. GG, Scotch Bonnet, Lime Juice & (suggested by friend) Fennel 'Fronds' - i'd describe them as feathery leaves fwiw.

Anyway, result a bit more watery, but also v.tasty & firey.

Had halloumi/falafel kebabs for dinner and both sauces work well on those.

    Not bad rainy day distraction!

  • ^ wow, what varieties?

  • These are Apache variety. Seeds from South Devon chilli farm

  • I made a pesto/tapenade type thing the other week, been chucking it into everything... Lots of parsley, a little basil, lots of garlic, olives, chilli, salt, pepper and olive oil... Very thick and gloopy and adds a massive umami kick to just about anything*...

    * within reason, obvs...

    Nice!

  • The scotch bonnet seeds I planted last weekend have sprouted in the strawberry planter. Higher yield than the Wahaca seeds too. Gonna plant them in individual pots once they get going.

Also got some Dorset Nagas on the go. Not sure about how to cook with those, however.

  • Slice one open and put it in a 5L bottle of oil?
