A horrific crash in Australia--police stop a speeding sports car driver on the motorway and four officers are killed by the (completely unrelated) driver of a lorry who has a 'medical episode', although it's not clear if that's what caused him to crash into the officers.
Some more unsavoury details from the above crash:
He was only up for a speeding ticket ...
I hope it doesn't prove to be true that both drivers may have been under the influence of drugs. Drug-driving is now a bigger problem than drink-driving (which, to be fair, for some time hasn't been nearly as big a problem as it used to be).
A motorcyclist has crashed into the central reservation on the North Circular and died:
This is very sad:
One of those crashes that happen so rarely as to be newsworthy. It sounds especially unfortunate as it happened when the horse slipped. RIP kids.
Unlucky person of the day--this sounds as if the victim was perhaps waiting to cross the street between two parked vehicles when a van driver crashed into one of them, trapping him:
Serious injuries without any doubt. Fingers crossed he makes it.
