Got the CDF at the start of the week.. came as a full bike wrapped in cling film. So plan was to strip it and build it up with my stuff from the equilibrium. Both frames stripped.. notice the 17 reflective stickers on the cdf.
it's great building a 1x setup with hydro brakes.. you can assemble the whole bike in about 30 mins..
So built it up tonight after tea.. first up in 650b mode.. will need a longer chain to deal with the 42t rear cassette.. Then in 700c mode with 28mm gravelkings and a 36t cassette
Swapped the stem around and took some pics this morning..
Nice job. A fine looking bicycle.
CDF in current setup.. swapped it over to a 2x9 Shimano flat bar setup while on the 650b's.. and moved the SRAM 1x hydro back onto the yellow equilibrium frame, so it's back and running as a geared winter bike.. the CDF build started because I bought tyres that didn't fit the equilibrium frame FFS..
That setup looks like a lot of fun!
My buddy rides a near identical set up. It’s a very capable bike. Enjoy!
Is this with 650b 42 wtb resolutes? How's...the clearance if I may ask? OK? Space for mud?
Clearance is good, although the day I took the pics above I went too far off road and got a bit carried away.. clogged up a bit, but it was very muddy!!
It's funny how mudguards are generally pretty useless in mud given their name. Maybe they should be called water and dirt guards
Looks gnarly. Which year CDF is it? I think newer ones have a few more mmm (mud millimetres)
Also is that a 3d printed light mount on the front? looks good.
It's 2014.. yeah more clearance without the guards.. to be fair the guards are crap, I found them in the parts bin and stuck them on.. that's just a bit of alloy bar that I drilled out to mount a light.. works well..
Not digging the flat bars, so will be moving to campag 9 speed shifters and drop bars..
