  • Can they be converted to 11 speed (like an Easton)?

  • yes. you can convert the rotor to an 11-speed.

  • price drop: £1180

  • price drop: £1170

  • price drop: £1140 ONO

  • You might, for the sake of accuracy, want to replace "brand new" with "NOS", as these cannot be from any later than 2010.

I'd also advise speaking direct to the hub manufacturer about the 11 speed conversion: http://www.m5-ligfietsen.com/site/EN/_m5__Lightweight_bike_parts/Front_and_rear_hubs/

  • This set is from early 2015. These are custom ordered ENVE rims with previous EDGE logos, because of other EDGE parts on the bike these wheelset were for. Like you know EDGE is the previous name of ENVE. They changed it to ENVE because of the european market. But they never took off or changed their product range. Concluding EDGE 1.25 rims are the same as the ENVE Classic 25 rims!

  • If they are early 2015 why are they 10 speed- designed for a bike with Tiagra?

  • Pretty simple to reply on that. My bike has a DA 7900, and like you probably know it is a 10-speed shifting system ;)... that wheelset should be a weight upgrade for my C'dale Six13. But I'm not longer living at a location with high moutains, so no need in it...

  • If I follow you what you are saying is that in 2015 ENVE made these wheels for you, and rather than simply putting a 1.85mm spacer on a standard 11 speed free hub body they dug out an old 10 speed free hub body and used that, whilst also digging out some EDGE stickers from 2010 and putting them on for you due to reasons?

Now none of this is impossible, merely implausible, but: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s_razor

  • I want to ask a different question. Where can I order a spare ENVE/ZIPP rim?

  • For you maybe not, but for me very plausible! This set was made by a pro wheelbuilder in Germany. He has a cooperation contract with ENVE and can get all decals you wish! You can buy this hub still as a 10 speed in many online shops! So if I need only a 10-speed, why should I buy an 11-speed?!? For me your argumentation is completely implausible, unless you trying to cut the price! And this is what I guess you are trying to do! So please try it somewhere else!

Btw. I do have a invoice from the wheelbuilder, so whatever you are trying to do here...it's paranoid and completely bullshit!

  • What's argumentation?
    Is it like breast augmentation?

  • unless you trying to cut the price! And this is what I guess you are trying to do!

For me, no - I've finished my retro/vintage build and it was a little older than these would suit.

For someone else, yes - they'd be insane to pay what you want for them.

  • Fun fact for the day: The trade association for plastic surgeons in the Uk is called the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, BAAPS for short! Someone has either a fantastic, or no sense of humour.

  • Anyone paying this amount for a wheelset that is very light and not strictly "retro" , it is likely that they will want an 11 speed setup--which costs extra to have done. Most modern groupsets are 11 speed after all.

  • LOL - you are not even interested! Sorry mate but you have no idea! Just make a research what you pay alone for one ENVE 1.25 rim and than we can talk about value and what is insane or not! ;)

Btw. changing the freewheel body costs approximate £40.

  • It's true that I have very little idea why someone would pay what you are asking for the wheels you are here to sell.

I suspect that you have no idea what I'd pay for an ENVE rim, given that I can buy them direct from ENVE at trade.

Anyway, this is beyond boring now - best of luck with your commercial endeavours, don't forget to contribute to the forum if you sell something here.

  • Could you post a pic of the invoice from the wheelbuilder please?

    Thanks,

  • Germans have cake now.

  • If you are interested in purchasing these wheelset, please write me a personal message. Than I can sent you an invoice and a lot of other detailed pictures if needed. Thanks
