Weight isn't my real concern, no. I'm riding a steel Colnago Master roadbike (be it with modern parts) and that 1 kg it weighs more than the sub 7 kg CAAD 10 I used to ride, doesn't make me slower climbing mountain passes. So I don't think the frameweight will make any difference.

Someone offered me a nice Ritchey P Team (new one) so after thinking, doubting, rethinking,... I have come to a decision: one of the Colnago's must go. I'm thinking of keeping the steel one and build it with the Suntour groupset and sell the Master Alloy frameset. What you guys think?

I always liked the Ritchey frames in Red-White-Blue and this 2014 P-Team is affordable and one of the last in those colours. New colours aren't my favourite.
Parting from one of the Colnago's was a hard decision to make.

Time for an update...
Sold the Ibex and left the Master on a wall in my home-office. Untill today:

I did the transalp a few years ago on an old explosif hard tail. Avid cable disc on front and v brake on back. All worked fine. And able to use same brake levers. On suspension options, then think about the length you need to keep the recommended geometry and remember you can add spacers to newer forks to shorten the travel. Floats and sids etc..
