  • So today despite struggling to walk atm I bought my first steel frame from Nukeluc. It's an extremely compact lugged/fillet brazed frame with pretty sweet square crimped top and seat tubes. It also has a sloping top tube which is something I personally haven't seen to often if at all in track frames. (apart from langsters)

The geo is where is gets really interesting though, I'm 6'1 and usually ride a 58cm but this frame has a 52cm seat tube and 55cm top tube although I've been assured its effective 57cm.

I'm going to try and take my time with this although I'm extremely impatient, the plan is a mix of shiny silver DA with some HHSB anno black parts (AArn chain ring etc) finished with a front rack/bar rack combo.

Sorry about the phone pic but heres a comparison next to my CAAD10, safe to say the geo is just a little crazy.

  • Reading the thread title I was expecting pictures of said frame in your kitchen... just a little dissapoint.

Very nice looking frame, nice catch.

  • The keukenrenovatie decals are probably from a sponsor. You should try to find out who built it!

  • Hehe Dutchies will go crazy over this thread, good looking frame though!

  • ^subbed. Looking forward to a nice renovation.

  • subbed

  • According to Nukeluc the frame was built by Primator, a small custom frame builder out of Belgium

  • Best thing is I'm blonde and quite Scandinavian looking so people are just gonna automatically assume I'm Swedish with this paintwork haha!

  • So I'm supposed to be taking this slow but I just can't resist a bargain after seeing 606 post a set of profile hubs in need of some TLC last night I picked them up immediately at the bargain price of £35. They're in full working order although they were white originally then roughly rattle canned black so the plan is to strip them back to raw, spend far too long polishing them up and then clear coat lacquer. Apologies again for the crap instagram photo!

  • Haha I first thought it was spam, because of the keukenrenovatatie stuff. Looks nice!

  • Only just realised keukenrenovatatie is something to do with kitchens haha!

  • Yeah keuken is kitchen in Dutch and renovatie means renovation;)

  • Damn it, they spelled my name wrong on the toptube!

Seems like a nice frame. Cool colours! I think black parts will look good op deze keukenfiets.

  • 'Kuken' in Swedish means 'the cock' so have been enjoying reading all this about refurbishing one's keuken and having a keukenbike.

  • Ordered TB14 32h black rims and stainless straight gauge spokes today and acquired an absolutely gorgeous Dura Ace fluted seat post. Also settled on Nitto risers and leaving the stem till I have completed the rest and know the size I need.

I'm having trouble with the Profile hubs though as they are female and need an Imperial Allen Key to remove the cone nuts, if anyone knows what size this may be or could possibly lend me two for a couple of days whilst I strip them that would be amazing!

Finally I have one wanted part request - a seat, possibly a concor or similar in good condition with out breaking my student loan budget if anyone has something lying round?

  • a flite would look good on this build. Buy a flite.

  • pukes on kuken

  • Flites how ever nice they look are well out of my price range Pete, I've managed to source a concor from alialias now just to wait for everything to arrive, strip the hubs and build it up!

  • Can get them second hand fairly cheap. Fair enough though! He posting it down from Manchester?

  • @Pete4Eyes I'm based down south (and have been since last July) until end of June! Passing through London tomorrow morning. Will be back in manx September!

  • Updaaaaaaate!

I got two sets of imperial allen keys and removed the hub shells. They were remarkably easy to strip using nitromorse, the black rattle can came off almost immediately and the which underneath only took a couple of coats and a wire brush to completely remove! So stoked on the end result they're so shiny with only slight blemishes on the flanges which will be covered by the spokes anyway!
