• 28c gravel kings might suit you, come up quite small though

  • 30c G-One Speeds fit the bill perfectly. Sweet bike!

  • Many thanks folks, will def have a look into your suggestions! T

  • Right so Roberts chat. I'm in the mindset of not buying any more frames for the time being. I have a pile to sell as unfortunately I'll never get round to building nor riding them and so I'm thinking building up the ones that are special to me as good as they can be.
The Roberts track is one of them.
I think it's something pretty special (happy for comments otherwise) due to the unique details and frame build bits. Frame itself weighs 2kg on the dot so I'm thinking maybe Reynolds 531c? Would be nice to get any thoughts on the tubing type if people have any.
    Looks like it built 1985.
Roberts panted seat stays and fork crowns.
Cast Cinelli BB. My first ever track bike (Dave Yates) had one of these and I absolutely love them!
Guerciotti lugs. The HT one has the Guerciotti star on it.
Campagnolo dropouts front and rear. Re-chromed.
It's evidently been recently re-sprayed in a champagne kinda gold. It's not bad but not my kind of colour and I think better justice can be done.
    So the questions are:

    • What colour? Traditional Roberts red (not the biggest fan of red but I could stand this one ;) ), champagne pink (like the Dave Yates one) or something completely different? I'm going to keep with white decals either way. I'm thinking Fatcreations for this as he's just down the road from me.
    • What parts/build? Thinking of keeping it Italian and date original. This could, however, end up being either S or C Record. Any thoughts? Also possibly thinking of a rear coaster and Pope bars but not completely set on that idea..
Think that's it! Will pop some pics up when I can :) Thanks for any ideas. T

  • Super lovely both!

  • Yesterday's Brighton cycle. Still suffering from dehydration, second water bottle ordered! Also a new Extralite rear axles and Conpass Chinook Pass 28c tyres. Hope they're worth the money :/! T

  • Well, if they're not, you can always sell them and buy some Schwalbe G-One Speeds in 30c, the greatest tyres ever created.

  • Agreed mate. Cheers, will def keep them in mind. Shall report back how the Compass' work out.. T

  • So first impressions from the Compass tyres. Bearing in mind I’ve never cycled anything over 25c on a roadie/gravel bike before.
Sooooo comfy!! 4seasons are amazing but when it come to tuning down bumps and crap roads these are really something else. Very soft and sticky aswell, really feel safe pulling fast into corners both on or off road. Easily installed, damn light for their size.
They may be pricey but it’s like when you buy a new set for the car, you always wonder why you didn’t do it years ago.
Talbot is undergoing some proper changes aswell, keep yer eyes open ;) T

  • Tyres were always a missing link on the moots, looking forward to seeing it with them on! I'm with @JB though, it needs bigger...

  • Nice stable Tom, I really love the Japanese pieces. How is the 3Rensho going? ;)

  • Thanks boys, appreciated. I’ll get some pics posted soon, awaiting a new Extralight stem for it currently.
3R has stalled. Still looking two chainrings to complete the NJS GS collection. The roadie has been cleaned and waxed and is currently in storage, I’m moving house again soon so trying to clean everything out.

It’s my bday this week. The Routt may end up with a custom Moots fixed gear brother if all goes to plan..

  • So having time to think about bikes on holiday.. Seeing as I need a new long term project I think the SG75 road gruppo for the 3R is a go. Hence on that note had anyone got any parts they'd like to sell? OM me please.
On another note the Talbot and Principia are still available.
    Cheers. T

  • Something is....maybe.....coming.....

  • That's bloody nice, wasn't it in Texas ?

    What's the plan ?

  • Cheers folks.
Aye from the USA somewhere. There's bare minimum on the net about it so have to do a good bit of research once it lands up.
Apparently the DA GS is original to it but yet to figure all that out!
Any info anyone may have is received with grace and thanks. T

  • Yaaasss

  • Today. Was good.

  • Ah you got the bishop built up I see. Hope you are loving the ride....

  • Hey there. It’s amazing. You point it somewhere and it just goes. Been comparing it to my Honda Integra Type R, the handling is impeccable. And people can’t stop saying how much they love it. Thanks buddy! T
