Good luck
Odd place I worked down that way for a year a while back commuted 2 hrs back / forth every day to relieve the boredom
Southamptons a shithole and you need to speak polish to understand anyone
Lymington nothing going on and you will soon start fancying your own sister if you hang round there to long
Bournemouth / Boscombe a little to far but full of thieving scouser anyway
Public transport is shite around that area -

Also
dont Consider going East towards pompey what goes on down there has to be experienced to be believed " wrongunville" -

Thanks @Pifko. I'll be working for the New Forest National Park Authority creating a new not for profit inclusive cycling organisation (access to cycling for those who either need adapted equipment or additional support). I'll spread my time between Lymington Town Hall and he forest itself.
How do you rate Bournemouth and what areas would you recommend for living? I don't really want to be in the middle of no where in terms of socialising as I will need to make friends :)Cheers,
Jolyon

Cool. @Pifkoany particular areas of Bournemouth that you would promote or advise to steer away from? I get the impression that there ar elots of senior citizens and lots of students. I am looking for a happy medium between walkabout and walking sticks...

All the people with taste live in Westbourne.
Theres really nowhere scary in bourney though. Depends what you want but house hunting is awful so good luck anyhow -

@_Leon is right - Westbourne is a real nice area. Expensive, but 5 min cycle to the beach, 5mins to local train station and good bus links. A handful of pubs and non-chain eats.
Or look into the Southbourne area of Bournemouth. Again, very close to beach and travel links. Lots of indie shops. <That's the national pastime right, shopping? The oldies tend to reside in Christchurch.

I have just accepted a job in the New Forest, which involves setting up a new not for profit inclusive cycling organisation. As such, I am leaving London.
Does anyone have any suggestions around where would be good to live? Ideally I'd like a bit of hustle bustle/social scene to meet new people (I won't know anyone) and somewhere that's easily commutable to Lymington.
Any suggestions about good areas to live and ways that I can not be a loner once I get there would be gratefully received.
