• He is right though. That chain ring is pony. Do what you want though. It's your build but if you do ask for help/advice /opinions be gracious with responses received and perhaps think twice before you reply in an angry fashion. Good luck with the build and have fun doing it. Lovely frame btw.

  • You do come across as a little uptight/angry/abusive.

  • cheers.

It was part of a longer story that has dragged out too long now. It was an ironic asking of his opinion as i knew he would have something negative to say.

  • Ok. Cheers man. Lets leave it at that.

  • You baited DJ and then didn't like the response? Oh dear.

  • See above in the comment I left 7ven

  • My seatpost has been dispatched!

  • Damn seatpost killed all the fun :) this build is going to be good, decided on the bars yet?

  • What saddle will fit this?

  • Just going to stick with the Tange risers that i have as they are narrower than the nitto risers.
Might opt for drops at some point soon, if my back is ok with that.

  • looks really promising, glad you didn't buy the colossi or any of the shit I suggested.
Get nitto risers I reckon, how narrow are the Tange ones?

  • Tange ones are 144 where as the nitto are 148.
    Not much in it

  • This one will give you two fitting positions ;)

  • Whoa. Multiple orificeseseses

  • Are those tyres fitted 25c?

  • Nice one Graham_Edin, thread title was previously a little harsh on our beloved dancing retentive. Your sense of humour is appreciated.

FWIW I'm out of fashion too, keep meaning/putting off getting a bike together with very similar 'tight clearances' myself, with only room for 23s under the fork. I might even ride it brakless on the road so I'll have to put up with James' ire.

My cockpit is going to to be, characteristically for me, a bit shit probably.

  • Yeh they are 25c

  • Yeh word. We're all here with a common interest.

Its hard to tell but a few of my posts were sarcastic and ignited a big fire.

  • the fork crown clearance is never going to send you over the bars. You may hear some rubbing its truly too close.

If you have too close of a clearance with the downtube, then yes, you can easily go over the bars in a very bad way. I'f say closer than 5mm with the downtime is way too close. Stick an allen key in there to check.

  • Not trying to ignite another fire in this thread but... Why would it matter where the wheel locks up? Or do you mean it is unlikely to lock up at all in the forks?

@Graham_Edin Lovely Concorde frame! I'm sure this process will result in a nice non-custom, non-built, already-existing-in-the-platonic-world-of-ideas bike. Have fun build- uhm... assembling it. You seem to have fended off the general directors of LFGSS-semantics and the way forward is clear =)

  • I appreciated the things said until edited. But lets not start this up again.

  • not tight clearance enough

Unlikely to ever lock in the fork crown

    i would suggest never.

  • Only if a bag, jacket or anything "soft" get stuck in it.
But then, it can happen with any kind of clearance, tight or not :)
