Doesn't look that bad.
New chain and chainring but old cog at the back? I'd be looking there before worrying about the chainring.

The cog has a couple of years (maybe around 5.000 km) but it's a dura ace - i thought it will last longer. I did check the teeth of the cog and they seem fine. Thanks for the quick reply. I would like to add that this was not a problem before and now, especially when I pedal hard (out of saddle) I feel a certain vibration in the pedals (that's when the chain rattles like crazy), i don't know exactly how to describe it, it is like the chain would have trouble entering on the chainring/sproket, like something is holding it up , it doesn't slide easily on each link (like a clicking thing) and this is sent out through the pedals (sorry for my poor description, not a native English speaker).

The cog could needn't have enough wear to be visible for it to effect how the chain runs on it.
It could just run 'differently' to the last chain but so long as everything is installed correctly then it shouldn't go anywhere.
If it was due to the unevenness in the chainring its more likely manifest as roughness at just one point in the crank revolution, especially if you spin the cranks/wheel with the wheel off the ground.
I'd give it a week or two or a few hundred miles and see if it beds in.

It'll bed in - tightening your chainring bolts is part of the 1.000 miles service check.

Thanks for the replies. I did go to a local shop and got the same advice. Will write a follow-up in two weeks time to tell you how it goes. Again, thank you for your answers

Hello there,
I am new to the forum so I want to signal a problem I just encountered.
I have bought a stronglight crankset (165mm, 48T) and bought a new chain (KMC Z510) but I noticed alot of chain noise compared to my previous setup -cheap sturmey archer fct26 crankset. So when looking closer I noticed a certain wobble of my chainring (checked and it's not the bb).
I posted a link with a short video - http://videobam.com/nTicm
The wobble is both sideways and back forth from what I noticed. I assume this is the source of the massive chain noise( chain tension is ok). Can I do anything about this, besides changing the cahinring ( I just received it so don't really like to spend another 30-40 pounds for a new chainring)
anybody face this issue?
Thanks
