  • In hilly Wiltshire for 2 weeks when this is on, I'll have a crack.

  • Might struggle to do it round here matey, I average about 1,100 feet on a 30 mile route, even with milk hill (the highest hill in wiltshire.) It'll be lots of up and down that's for sure! Good luck!

  • Reps of Naish and Bowden Hill should do it. Good interval training anyhow...

  • Do you get a roundel this year? If not I'm out.

  • I think you do.

  • There is a very special prize for anyone that does it all in one ride.

  • See how the legs feel but I may go and do it all on Monday. On Highgate.

  • Found a 2.7k 8%avg with a 33% kick in macc forest. I stalled at the kick on Thursday so I'm going back for reps tomorrow

  • There is a very special prize for anyone that does it all in one ride.

There are a few Audaxes that cover close to 8,800m climbing in one ride (Bryan Chapman 600 and Kernow & South West 600 are both ~8,300m climbing and I've done both of them in under 40 hours) but if you definitely want to smash that total then this starts on the 21st (but is sold out):-

    http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/14-393/

17,950m climbing over 1300km and 2.6 billion midges.

  • The other weekend I was on 4000m in one hit but 8000m is pushing it. That audax is mental!!!

  • If the prize is new knees (and replacement tear ducts) I'd be up for giving that a go....

  • Up to 25% today, think I may struggle this year as limited time in the week.

  • The other weekend I was on 4000m in one hit but 8000m is pushing it. That audax is mental!!!

'Audax at it's most literal and exciting' apparently...

  • The other weekend I was on 4000m in one hit but 8000m is pushing it.

    Uhhh - Do it twice?

  • am going to give this a go, just do a little hilly loop literally on my doorstep - could take a while but ho hum, at least it's pedaling!

and it's the penultimate climb from the stage one route :)

  • I'm pushed for time because of work so I'm doing loops too.

Four loops today has yielded just under 90 miles but more importantly, just over 11,000 feet.

Because it's a curcuit, the elevation profile looks crazy.

  • Dunno about all this Rapha malarky but I'm planning on going a ride tomorrow then getting so shitfaced I can't even climb the stairs.

  • Uhhh - Do it twice?

    No.

  • Repeats till the sun come out yesterday. Up to 3200 so far, 15 miles to the nearest hill over 100m :(

  • 115 laps of Richmond Park. If only I didn't have a job.

  • How dreary would that be?

I've been trying to find a loop in Surrey Hills that would allow you to nail 8,000 meters in one go, without boring yourself to death, nor having to ride a million km.

I'm currently at 320ish km with 8,000 meters climbed.

  • Alternatively, you could just fly to the alps, and actually have fun.

  • Dunno about all this Rapha malarky but I'm planning on going a ride tomorrow then getting so shitfaced I can't even climb the stairs.

I aim to do this on Sunday.

  • Go to Wales or Scotland and ride for 24 hours and you'd probably get it.
