Well, ended up doing just shy of 5 miles and I don't really know where to start.
Almost no road buzz, the shifting is massively improved over the 6700 set I was using before - smooth, quick to change and just feels reliable. The wheels are just as nimble as they were on the Fuji, only they actually seem marginally quicker to accelerate now. Everything feels reeally stiff now too. Not just the bottom bracket but the head-tube and bar just don't move any more.
Not sure if that's going to be a massive help though as I've always liked a tiny bit of flex on ascents... sure I'll realise the error of my ways there though.
The other most noticeable things I think I noticed almost immediately is that any discomfort in the saddle that there was (still using the same old well worn Kit Carbonio) has just disappeared.
...the other thing being how much faster it is. A good 2-2.5kg lighter than the Fuji is, and with much better components, I seem to be getting a good ~10% higher speed. As with all of the above, I know the proof of any of the above being true will be in a good long varied ride but it's definitely looking promising :-)

Something about that bike I like a lot. Congrats.

Thanks. Got new bike nerves at the moment though - sure it'll pass once I've got used to it's quirks and very different handing. Just going to take it easy to start with but yeah, really happy with it

It looks utilitarian, and fast! I have a steel road bike but if I get a carbon, I think I'll go for the stealth black look like yours

I think it will be fast one day, but I've completely lost my mojo after letting myself go for the last few weeks. Hoping I'll get back in to the swing of it soon but my legs feel like lead at the moment. Very frustrating!

Know that feel :( Except few months
I still think the frame is... um... well. But I appreciate it's well made, and looks better built up than it did on it's own. And it's all about function I suppose. For the money I'd have gone Canyon/Rose/Cannondale, but I <3 aluminium

What size is the frame Rowhan?
I quite like it

Cheers - It's a 58. Biggest they do apparently.
On a side note I've just noticed that I could have got myself a Canyon Endurace Dura Ace 11 for 700 more... but then it wouldn't have been "my" build or my choice of finish... and I wouldn't have been able to afford it anyway, so nevermind..

£700 is the difference in price of the groupset anyway, so no difference really!

Hi Rowan. Its been two years since your post. I am in south africa and I just bought a tirgon tr426 frame set. I think its end of stock so I got it reasonably cheap. +- 400 pounds.
Please tell me how did you find the TR426. What kit would you suggest I use with it ? -

Hey, had it on Ultegra 53/39 12-25 11-speed with FFWD40 wheelset for the racier group training rides, and 52/36 12-27 with 28mm Swissside's for hill reps and much longer rides with 1500m+ climbing.
Not that it's at all sluggish on climbs but it's insanely quick on the flat. I'd recommend getting a very stiff, well-made wheelset if flat and fast is your thing. The frame honestly doesn't flex at all so losing that power transfer to spongy crap wheels is probably the first thing to sort out.
Also got a Kit Carbonio SLR saddle just for the carbon rails to remove the little remaining road buzz that the frame hasn't cancelled out, but any carbon railed saddle would do the same I guess.
Bar are Deda Zero100 black - probably the best alloy bars I've used. Could have gone for carbon there too but managed to take away any front end buzz or vibrations with Lizard Skin 1.8mm tape instead, and saved myself about £40.
I guess if you've got the money, as with the wheels get a really stiff crank set and you'll be flying. If you haven't actually ridden one of these you're in for a treat basically. Ridiculous quality for the price!
This is from a ride I did last year https://www.strava.com/activities/358605463#8542051002 ...... while I had stage 3 cancer. Any bike that can enable a 35mph on the flat gets my vote ;)

It loves a good kick. As a few mates in my club have said it's cheap enough but good enough to be used in high-end crit racing. Won't find me risking it now it's discontinued though!

No idea yet :-) just about to take it for a 2mile round trip to Evans for a refund on something I didnt need in the end. Will gently see what it's like on the flat first.
Havent actually been on a bike for about 3 weeks so probably going to be a tiny bit rusty. Feeling pretty cautious anyway
