• Removed from sale.

  • This is now available again. Apologies for the prior confusion. Please message me if you're interested.

Will be in London Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, so happy to bring the frame along to save on postage costs (payment will need to be made first though, as I can't really take it all the way there just for an inspection. The photos and description above are very clear).

  • Price drop.

  • I reckon you stick a Praxis PF30 converter in there, it'll be fine - the thing tightens onto itself and sits solidly in the BB hole without moving. Obviously that's only any use for people intending to use 24mm cranks, not BB30 ones.

  • Just out of curiosity, is the mechanic who made a complete arse of this offering any sort of compensation? If this was done by a professional mechanic in a bike shop they should be the one to foot the bill.

That's what I thought, although of course no guarantees. Using a BB30 myself, and don't know how to repair the frame, so selling it on.

That's being sorted out now, yes. The shop in question have been helpful.

  • So you're selling a damaged frame that has cost you nothing for near £300?

Thats assuming the mechanic footed the full cost of a new frame. Which he certainly should have.

No. Took time off work (2 days) to travel to London and have it built (I was in the bike shop for the whole day, and then in the city for the next day), plus the other things mentioned above. Had to change a few other parts which were damaged / messed up during the installation, so the price I'm asking basically covers those costs. I explained in the original post. I haven't calculated the total costs from the old and new build on a spreadsheet or anything, but I'm not making any money from selling this. Also, 6 weeks (by the time the new one is done), in the middle of the summer, where I haven't been able to train or ride using this bike, which was the plan. The shop might be helping me with a replacement frame, but that lost work pay and time I won't be receiving any compensation for. It has cost me money and time. If you're interested, but not keen on the price, feel free to make an offer. The shop have been decent, which I respect, and for that reason, I'd rather not open it up to a full-blown discussion... Just trying to cover my costs here.

  • It does suck that you've been put out / not had a bike for so long.

Silver lining: a brand spanking frame with a full manufacturers warranty (instead of the second hand frame you had damaged).

Finally, a bit spendy for a shagged frame really.

  • Open to offers. Hope you manage to shift yours, too.

  • Meant in the nicest possible way^^

Loctite some bearings in and build it as a winter bike, which will have the same geometry and position as your best bike - win/win.

  • No amount of loctite is going to help out that frame, it's fucked.

If I wasn't a midget I'd take it off your hands as I've got a Praxis BB and DA groupset going spare.

No worries. Truth. Could well do that. Might be a fun project. But have to build a school commute bike for my little sister first - a late 16th birthday present. Will leave it for sale for the mo. I'm sure it's usable by someone with the right knowhow to fix it or stick a sleeve in there.

Confused - you said it's screwed but have parts that would work with it?

  • So you're selling a damaged frame that has cost you nothing for near £300?

oh you clever boy. Its being offered for sale. You can choose whether or not its worth your while purchasing it. Just take a moment.......have a little think.... is it clear now?

  • Fuck off

  • keep thinking....see if you can come up with something better.....

  • Please guys, leave it out.

I'm open to offers with this, and know it is damaged, so want to try and be reasonable.

Sad no one has commented on the Cafe De Colombia bag ;(

The tolerances on BB30 are 0.02mm. BB30 bearings are never going to sit right in that shell. But yeah I have a spare Praxis BB30 to HT2 converter that'd probably work fine.

not sure any bike shop in the UK actually has one, but may be a possibility

  • Yeah they do - but if material has been removed from a shell that was at spec it's unlikely reaming it will improve it much.

  • That frame will always creak as the interface is compromised. The same press-fit interface is used for a Praxis, Wheels MFG, KCNC type convertor BB where they press in to the compromised bearing receptacle and then screw down.

    It's worth £100 at best.

Your attempt to justify it by saying you lost x pounds and time off the bike is ridiculous. The potential buyer is not your insurance provider.

    Joker...

  • Conjecture, until someone glues in a BSA converter of choice and tries it.

It's certainly likely to be noisy if the worst of it - the raised material around the circlip interface - isn't removed first.

  • £300 to try it? Come on mate...

  • It's worth what someone will pay for it, that's all. I think the description of the damage is accurate.
