• have you guys reported this to the OB yet?

I mean the thread is hilarious and all, but it does seem that a crime has been committed and nobody is going to get their money back by posting "GIMME MY MONEH BACK YO" here.

  • I think I'd like to give Charlie the time to respond to my questions first. I'm not the kind of guy to wish a Criminal record on anyone (particularly for FRAUD as it would massively impact on his life). Though if anyone is going ahead I will add my voice to the list of complaints as I have lost out on twenty quid. Could we get a complete list of how much he owes, perhaps to remind the young man?

2nd result in Google Charlie, page one...

  • so you all paid him direct to his bank account even though he had only posted on here 30 odd times?

    no alarm bells? really?

  • so you all paid him direct to his bank account even though he had only posted on here 30 odd times?

    no alarm bells? really?

Of course there were, but I would like to think people on here were generally decent. I don't think any of us jumped in willy-nilly without at first trying to get Charlie to use his paypal account. It's put me off buying from the forum as a whole to be honest.

Should other forums be warned about this fraudulent behaviour perhaps?

  • Those affected should create a list, then one should lead the group to organise pulling together all info into a Google spreadsheet... dates, payments, communications, etc.

Then that should be presented to the police.

Start with a simple list... who has had money stolen and no goods supplied?

  • Kirth, give up with your contract bullshit. This aint ebay/amazon/gumtree. The police would somehow need to prove i didnt send the items rather than me proving that i did. How they would do this is beyond me. With a written statement from me and my solicitor saying that i have sent these items they would clearly not be able to prove otherwise.

    I don't even know...

  • Don't worry; if you send a written statement from you and your solicitor the cancer will have to go away.

  • Are criminals awake this early?

  • They are when the cops break down their door and pump the flat full of tear gas.

    That will happen, right?

    ...

Theres no contract on this forum. Velocio will tell you this im sure.

I missed this post as I'm not reading everything.

Actually the forum doesn't provide any rules that attempt to modify or change any laws in the UK. As in... murder is criminal, there's really no need for me to put in the rules that you shouldn't murder someone, it's covered elsewhere (UK law) and it's obvious this forum is governed by UK law.

With that in mind, UK law does cover that transactions between people, agreements of a transaction, are a form of contract and contract law does apply. There's no need for me to declare or specify the terms of any contract when UK law already provides the necessary framework for one.

And as I said earlier in this mess, if it were 1 person it would be a matter for a small claims court, a civil matter that the police wouldn't get involved with. Then we can start debating what the contract was, etc.

But with multiple people affected, and you having taken money from multiple people on false pretences it is fraud, you're a conman, and it is a criminal matter. We don't even need to debate what the contract is, fraud and theft has occurred.

The forum doesn't provide contracts simply because UK law already has everything necessary to handle this. The forum is not pretending it doesn't exist in the UK... it does.

You need a leader to sort out a list. Maybe someone should nominate an organiser?

  • The forum is not pretending it doesn't exist in the UK... it does.

Hence it being London Fixed Gear and Single Speed :)

I nominate GIOS78 to start the list (I've got kids to look after)

  • Iv done my fair share of jail time.

    this one?

    Oh I can imagine...

  • A few pages back he used the word 'dinlo'.
I haven't heard that word since I was in primary school near Pompey.
I always thought it was just a local word.

  • Here's a list of stuff that he had for sale and people that were interested (as far as I can work out). Question marks after usernames for those who dibsed. Now I'm off to sort the kids out. Will check back later...

If he has gone to jail he already has a record. So it appears Charlie Z Harris is a criminal and a fraudster.
