  • Kate has a (delayed) plan...

    https://www.insider.co.uk/news/forbes-reveals-plans-publish-delayed-25990747

But who will invest cash in the SNIB with the SGs record in business intervention? The risk rating on those bonds will not be AA..

    https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/scottish-national-investment-bank-needs-private-cash-to-top-up-2bn-funds-gs90p0k79

  • what does this have to with what i posted? I don't think the SNIB will ever be investing 27bn on a single project in a single year. This is not about the SNIB

  • Mine last time was EU membership mostly and some other non addressed issues.

The plan is still incredibly loose but EU membership... Yeah lets go for it.

  • scottish government doesn't have the powers to borrow the billions required to fund a publicly owned venture like the article suggests

Edit to add.. the SG can issue govt bonds too. Not at UK rates though!

  • Yup I hated the idea of being out of the EU but its a sacrifice I was willing to make. We might have made it back in.

I would very much like the plan, the plan would be good, the answers to all the questions. It definitely wont be perfect but it doesn't have to be. It would be folly to try another referendum without that written in black n' white in layman's terms and available to all.

  • look, i've been ill for a few days so i'm willing to admit it might just be my addled brain but i really don't know what the point you're trying to make is

can you just spell it out for me please

  • I hope all those staying in Scotland have checked that no doors are inhibiting airflow on this dreich evening

  • It's no dreich here.

  • Maybe not theee plan but a plan would be good outside of “we had oil and we don’t like tories”

Also that photo is a scam from today it was -75 with the windchill in Dufftown and was not much better when I got back to the central belt.

  • When I popped out to the bakers to get pies at lunchtime (and beer and chocolate) I had to wipe snow off the car. When I popped out to the chip shop for two sausage suppers and a packet of fags at teatime I also had to wipe snow off the other car...

Just doing my bit for the fast declining healthy period of life statistics.

  • Tories are cunts covers most bases for me.

Oh it was cold but at around 5pm it was that lovely blue skies with pastel sunset colour vibes in the hills between Dunning Glen and Stronachie. Then it went severely "are these real fingers" cold.

  • A touch reductive?

  • I'll work on my material.

I sense a need from your comment to other those that don't share your beliefs and self imagined progressive worldview... Or just another keyboard warrior that would find the Marketgait problematic?

  • Nah man it was really very chilly, especially on the extremities.

  • As someone who lives in Scotland, the ship has sailed I feel on this and the way you’ve described brexit is what I feel would happen with indy 2, the white paper before was fiction and full of nonsense and I feel the V2 will be the same.

I hear the argument too, you’ll be able to vote in for who you want when we get it. It just seems like people are so disillusioned and the SNP attract people who vote that they will just get back in and the mess they are making right now with devolution makes me fell it won’t be much better but infact much worse being independent

  • I concur, he’s a cunt.

  • Those hills are very very very close to me…

    Beautiful place.

Agreed and following 2014, 2016 and Covid people seem to be just really weary of government on both sides of the border. Think we could all do with a breather.

  • There's no way on Earth the establishment machine will allow Independence, they will pull out ALL the dirty social media stops. Whatever it takes.

    Sad to say

  • I don't know why they want us so bad, we are leeches that just take take take.

  • I agree but the problem is NS wants to push on at a any goal as that is the only goal for them. I really wasnt convinced first time round, but in the last few years so much has come out that show they are about as trustworthy as the tories down south.

Its just a big mess filled with folk who are lying cunts.
