Really looking forward to this! Praying it doesn;t piss it down ALL night though..
So far, the weather forecast looks pretty good, only a little rain announced and it'll be reasonably warm.

Yeah CB, we got in at about 5:30 last time following a train of roadies.
I'm factoring in catastrophic failures and zero legs for way back to Ipswich. But I do imagine I'll have to buy an earlier train ticket. -

Let's see pictures of people's bike setups then?

I'm not changing it for the DD so it'll be the standard set like this but without the broken bottle cage held together with a plastic bag.

Karma Frisbee
My peace-loving renaming of a well known game 'killer frisbee'. -

Well, google seems to think it isn't well-known. Meh. Maybe I'll start a game on Dunwich beach.

the game is essentially a grown-up version of piggy-in-the-middle, with the aim for most players being to hit the person in the middle of the circle with a frisbee (they must throw it - walking up to the person and hitting them with a frisbee you're holding is just not on).
By convention the players forming the circle keep roughly in position, or move around in a way such that the circle keeps approximately the same size throughout play.
As a concession to health and safety a hit must be above the knee and below the head. (there is no guarantee that you won't get hit below the knee or on the head.) in order to allow the middle person to fend off attacks, hits on the arm only count between the elbow and shoulder.
If you manage to land a successful hit on the middle person you get to nominate another player to take their place.
If you are in the middle and manage to hit any other player (subject to the above rules) then they take your place in the middle.
To speed the game up you may only hold on to a frisbee for a maximum of three seconds.
In order to play you will need frisbees (about 4 if there are six people). It may also be advisable to have a packet of plasters, antiseptic cream and deep heat available.

52x19, brand new bag on the back for Haribo and no mudguards because it's not going to rain.

Going on the Harry Quinn, was thinking Mercian originally but I'm more comfortable on this. Will check gearing maybe gear down so swap 16t for 17t
Clothing will be BD cycle top withsoft shell jacket, 3/4 bibs and shorts with pockets for jelly babies, 'nanas and some cash
Have tool pack, allen key, CO2 pump, 1 spare inner, couple of patches, tyre leavers and spare batteries

Don't worry. I'm going to fit mudguards tonight which will guarantee a rain free ride for all.

Cos they made better patterns when doubled up.
I had them on the same pattern generator so as long as they start at the same time looks good -

Good to know you are coming - the forum folks I knew had dropped out (neg rep coming their way) so thought I was going to be making polite chit chat to randoms
Can someone recommend a Forum meeting spot in or around the park - is that even feasible?

No, the game I know as killer frisbee is much more of a free-for all, but has a nice detail that makes Karma Frisbee a better name.
I'll explain on the beach.

I've made an order for road shoes. They say it should arrive on time. Assuming they do, I'm in.
Does anyone have a spare ticket for sale?
-

I've been quite silly and booked a very conservative train [16:43] back from Ipswich. Depending on when I rock up I'll probably just pay for an earlier one back.
I'm booked in an hour earlier, but don't want to spend the dollar for an on the day fare if I change my mind.
So, I didn't get a front wheel sorted so borrowing this one for now + a saddle bag and backpack

I'm sure it's going to be an excellent way to cap off a great week

I may well be wrong but if spaces are available I think you can get advance fares on the day. Just book on your phone a little before hand. I've definitely done it back from Cambridge.
I'll explain on the beach.
Are you planning something nefarious?
