  • Used for approx 350 miles in mint condition, full carbon hubs spokes and rims with conti tubs , really light with no damage.
Looking for approx £500 , message for more info

  • good 4 u

  • Will buy for £100.

  • Hopeful second dibs

  • £101

  • I have offered to buy these for £100 as per your previous thread.

  • FFS don't let's start this. Just congratulate James and gent up a bit.

  • Sorry should be £1000 doh!

  • That makes sense.

  • I'll put a low ball £500 offer down to start.

  • Unless you have multiple sets and I am mistaken.

  • I should add: on the assumption they're true. Which is all I care about. If true they should stay that way for a lifetime.

  • Keep them seeing as they don't make them anymore in about 5 years there'll be hipster tax on it

  • Aren't you a '0' away from each other.

    Hark at you

  • Obviously the guy got the price incorrect originally. I place a respectful low ball. Hark yourself.

  • Modern day Spinergy four-spoke?

  • TBH I'm interested in them because they're the only full carbon wheel I know of to come with practically no weight limit. My last set rubbed the point off post chain stays and fork ends. Lasted 4 weeks.

  • The freehub isn't removable- on some of them at least, which means that when it's toast so are the wheels.

  • respectful lowball

    Oxymoron

  • The free-hub is removable and they are still completely true, i have changed the f/h on many occasions. Yes i made a mistake on the original listing, my fault! Not sure where you got your info from Dammit, but its incorrect. BTW, they will be making them in the future, a buyer is going to be named soon to get the factory working again and full production, its the holding company DCG that's the problem, no money! More to the point, the wheels are mint and ride so very well and in my opinion , look awesome.

  • Just as long as people understand what their £1,000 gets them.

    Onward and Upward

I co-founded Mad Fiber in 2009 and left in August 2013 as the business began choking on a series of decisions in which I was not involved. I’m told what is left will go to bankruptcy shortly.

I am immensely proud of the engineering and manufacturing team at Mad Fiber. A group of this caliber is rare in any industry. I am also grateful to vendors, partners, and thousands of customers; incredibly generous early adopters, sharing the vision, making a dream possible.

I am proud the first model performed under gifted riders like Freddie Rodriguez, Ivan Dominguez, David Richter, Todd Heriot, Rich Roll, and Joanna Lawn. It was ridden to World, US National, and multiple State Road Championships; Ironman, Ultraman, and RAAM titles and placings; and set some absolute strength-to-weight records. I am only sorry no one will see what we were capable of. We barely got the launch product sorted, and planned much more to come.

While this affair may become clearer in the future, I must confess my inability to understand why it had to happen. Mostly I hope the episode does not deter other innovators beginning or considering creating positive technical change. Cycling needs you. May you have lucky breaks and tailwinds.

I am very sorry to hear about this! Can you please let me know if Mad Fiber will still honor any warranty issues with the wheels?

You know all I do. All Mad Fiber staff was dismissed. There are no employees. The owners, DCG (http://www.divinecycles.com/) have not discussed their intentions. In a best-case, they or a new owner will move forward with the technology and embrace current users. Write to them; listen for news; that’s all I know."

Personally I think you'd be insane to pay £1,000 for these given that you could easily pick up some Firecrest 404's for that.

The Mad Fibers are now a cycling curiosity, and will have some value in future- but I suspect that to move them you would be wise to reconsider your initial valuation.

  • Nearly 500g lighter and more aero so its not really a fair comparison, a good wheel i agree, but a completely different wheel set.
I would accept any decent offers tbh, remember you are getting the tyres and the bag, the bag alone if £250 and the tubs are included they would set you back about £100 per set, so it is a good deal.
Make me a decent offer and i will consider it.

I take it my offer isn't decent enough then? So I retract it.
