    East Germany official product :)

  • Degenkolb has torn his Gluteus Maximus, oo er

  • Poor fellow, what a pain in the arse that must be.

    Soz.

  • oh no. Another of my favourites out. Ugh.

  • ^he's not out yet

  • That was it, hard bastard.

Interesting yours showed. Doc told me they dont usually show up, maybe because mine was a hairline fracture. Was yours a clean in two split?

PS, sorry to hear that, hope you recover soon!

It was fractured at the waist but minimally displaced. I'm not sure why it showed up. I was in a cast for six weeks, but have now returned to full movement and use and it feels fine. I know I'm fairly lucky given the complexities you can face with a scaphoid.

  • Meh. Start an Italian Euskaltel then. I'm sure they'd get lots of support from the Northern League. Pro cycling teams are businesses like any pro sports team, but with even less connection to a geographical location.

Says the man who gets a raging hard on every time Ryder Hesjedal ~~ gets popped for doping~~ wins a race.

  • These times are over, I guess a not-looked-after broken collarbone is an easy way to not being able to race again

  • It's more a dig at the way I think people "on here" expect riders to be.

  • I thought you were making some subtle comment about how battling on with a broken collarbone is nothing compared to being a fascist thug involved in the massacre of some partisans.

    Or something.

  • Charley Wegelius' book is good on why riders continue racing when they are injured. It's not as heroic as it seems - they want to keep their jobs and finishing a race is a big part of that. Maybe not so much for the team leaders but for everyone else it is 'how many days did you race this year', 'how many races did you finish'?
The silliest thing about David Millar's tantrum was that he seems to think there is any sentiment in cycling. It's always been a 'what have you done for us recently?' sport.

  • Mollema allergic to rubber. Didn't know that.

  • good excuse to make others fix your punctures

  • His hands must be made of steel. That must hurt at the end of a stage.

  • This may be a stupid question, but why doesn't he just wear gloves? I know the pros are anti-gloves for some mysterious reason, but it would seem simpler. Certainly more comfortable.

I've had three broken scaphoids now, none of them have shown on initial x-ray, but probably if you break it at the waist, it's pretty noticeable.

Have needed MRI or that radioactive stuff they inject you with and then x-ray you to find the breaks. Had to cycle home from hospital after the crash that broke left and right at the same time with both arms in plaster, but riding the better part of a GT would've been a bit much. Kudos big hard Tony Martin.

He'd have to wear full finger gloves. And then it'd be hard to get into pockets.

I don't have rubber covers on one of my bikes right now, haven't noticed. Just the same. Not that a 2mm bit of rubber does much int he first place!

I just end up feeling left out.

  • It's all about Sven Tuft now, anyway.

I much prefer riding without gloves.. Only race with them on to protect my hands a bit.

  • Sven Tuft

    "Svein"

  • Indeed. That's how much of a fan I am.

I'm guessing you mean without. I'm the opposite: I find the interface of hand to bar(tape) gets rather slippy pretty quickly, but it could be because I have unnaturally sweaty palms, which is either down to me being in love or an overactive thyroid. I'm not sure yet.
