I have sold a B.Jackson frame which I was using and brought myself a Merckx (steel frame)! I kept all the part from my old frame to put on the Merckx and brought a new chain and BB.
Stronglight 200 crankset + Shimano Italian 72 107mm + Sugino zen chainring + Shimano dura ace track cog. All 1/8"
After assembling everything, I turned the crankset and that is when I noticed the clicking sound! This noise did not happen when all the parts where on my B. Jackson frame.
*Inspecting everything - I noticed *as the chain was being caught by the cog, the chain was not falling between the teeth of the cog but slightly hit the bolts of the chain, and as the pressure continues it would force the chain between the teeth causing the click.
If the teeth were hitting the sides of the chain it would suggest that my alignment was off. but this isn't the case as the teeth are hitting the bolts. The noise only happens when I am accelerating/climbing
any ideas/suggestions/solutions/highlighting my ignorance welcome!
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot

For syntax highlighting, surround the code block with three backticks:
```
Your code goes here
```
Just like Github, a blank line must precede a code block.
If you upload more than 5 files we will display all attachments as thumbnails.
Right!
