  • I bought an ITM stem with a busted wedge, does anyone know what wedge to replace with? Seems to be several kinds/ specs. Cheers!

  • does anyone know what wedge to replace with?

In the first instance, I'd take a punt on this MTB stem using the same angle and thread

  • I'm supposed to have one of these seals on either side of the BB right? I.e. between the BB and the crank R & L.

I took apart an old bike to re-use the grx groupset but now that I'm coming to install everything I can only find one.

  • Check for cracks at the welds too. Those stems are prone to it. Especially at the screwnuts.

  • yeah. might still be on the drive side of the crank?

  • No luck unfortunately. Will check with my LBS to see if they have a spare one somewhere

  • Try a bearing place or measure and see if you can buy one

  • I've got 105 rear mech shifting a 42T fine using a wolf tooth.

    Take off the wolf tooth.

  • Hello. I'm after a square taper crank set that will also take a 42t up to 45t on my '94 Marin Bear Valley.
I've been looking at the sun race spider crankset but the 96bcd isn't that common and can only find a 40t chain for it.

Any suggestions or alternatives would be appreciated. Cheers.

  • what about an old school mtb crank (bit earlier than you marin tho)?. They sometimes have the same bcd as compact road chainsets -110 -so there are loads of chaining options. you might find something cheap and it’ll suit the bike

  • Have a vintage seattube (fastened with a seatpost bolt) which I loosened to adjust a saddle, tightened up to max, and it feels like it's bottomed out/got as tight as I can get it without going full hulk on the thing, but seatpost is still loose. A bit hesitant to go full hulk on the thing as I've broken seatpost bolts before, so trying to figure out if I am missing something before I go back and give it more force. It did have someone sitting on the saddle for about a 2 mile journey when I unwittingly left the seatpost bolt too loose, and I'm wondering if the setback post may have potentially reamed out the seattube opening during that time..?
