@russmeyer cheers, do you think any 10 speed road STI would work?
Not that I know of, sorry. Best get a compatible road RD (or an old style mtb RD with compatible routing) and an extension for the hanger I think.
Any 'thin-walled' 1-1/8" headset spacers with outer diameter of 31.5 - 31.8mm available in the UK?
Something similar to this: https://www.renehersecycles.com/shop/components/stems-decaleurs/stem-spacers/
@gbj_tester makes some I think.
I ran exactly the shifter/RD combo on the bike I built for my first attempt at the Fred Whitton. 6700 3x10 shifters an a 772 RD. Worked fine.
@Brommers, Boom! that's what I wanted, someone who has done it. Thanks.
Excellent @Brommers . @TheShipwright let us know how things go?
@russmeyer will do but don't hold your breath, I'm really slow! :-)
My Croix de fer clearly isn’t designed with chunky 650b tyres in mind, but would it be possible to get my chainstay crimps extended further down the stays to increase 650b clearance? Certain firey death?
(I’d get a professional to do it rather than diy)
