Have the forks been lacquered aswell?
Is the seatpost pictured the one included in the sale?. Also what bottom bracket is included? has it done many miles? -
• #7
yes fully lacquered frame + forks , seatpost is one in photo of full build , nothing fancy but nice enough , bottom bracket is about 6 months old but like i say hardly ridden since build as its too big !

Hi,
I am interested in the complete bike and live in N16 so easy pickup.
How tall are you?
Cheers -
• #11
my height is 5 foot 10 , this is a fraction too big for me as its a 58 top tube / 57 down tube .

531 frame ,made postwar 1940s /1950s i think , lovely rear dropouts and fine brazing, spearpoint lug on seat tube . BB shell serial number 1938 dont think this is a indication of year , "claud butler 194? something "stamped on the down tube , super thin pencil stays ......lovely bit of british cycling history !
frame has been stripped + lacquered to show the brazing ,(armourtex £70) sadly someone trimmed the gear /brake bosses to make a "fixie" before i got it , the original benelux lever band still on frame , as is rear mech hanger so still could be turned back into road bike with love though i rather like the fillet brazed spots ...........
sale includes frame + forks , newish bottom bracket , new stronglight a9 alloy headset, + good used seatpost , been built up for 6 months since lacquering but rarely ridden as just too big for me :(
seat tube 57 top tube 58 .
£100(down from 120) ono
