My first ever track project

I have some Campag super record strada cranks, with a record pista 48t chainring and chainring bolts, I could maybe be persuaded to part with, in the name of saving this from Miche.

What are the Miche looking at costing you?

Aha I think if I paint it the right colours the miche cranks won't look bad? But I'm intreeged to see how much you would part with them for? I'm getting them from a friend for about £70

Nah to be honest my problem with miche is in the quality.
Stripped threads, soft metals etc...

Just got this for £15 from a dude at work forgot to mention it lol wrong size for his bike and he couldn't send it back.

Just found out that Roy Swinnerton died on the 3rd of this month.

right so as far as the decals are concerned i was thinking about the original decals and here is what iv got so far in Illustrator. I will probs just buy the head badge off the swinnerton web site though lol but i though id had ago since im doing some work from home anyway.
let me know if you have any idea for decal ideas or frame colours peeps

Colour wise, I'll chuck in a vote for flam red with white decals (+ black outlines). With some kind of lug lining.

Cheers mate just trying it out :-) and keeping my skills up to date lol, might go got the red and white just depends how much it will cost to get painted :-) if its to expencive for me il go for a solid colour but don't know what :-) but maybe your right, the lugs are nice looking so they should be shown off :-)

I tried to get a pair of Miche cranks off a friends bike. Screwed the extractor in as far as it would go, start cranking the bolt down to pull it off and the threads came out as a big spring, the hole they were in was then completely smooth.

I've never had a problem with Miche cranks

^This, it's not mindless hate and that was the kind of thread stripping I was talking about, I choose to avoid miche because I know it'll be cheaper not to have to buy cranks twice. Just got omniums the first time round instead of deciding that after ruining miche.

Well it's still early days yet so who knows what parts I'm getting for sure, I'm getting the frame painted this month though that's why I'm trying to sort out a colour scheme.

Cheap and decent enough.

Right so I got bored today and started to strip my frame. What a ball ache but kind of fun at the same time. And the decals that I drew In illustrator arrived in the post thanks to (roboto)

Looking better already now it's stripped, good work.
I am also of the opinion that these cranks are a good choice... Well, depending on what you want from a pair of cranks. These will look better than Miche on this frame.

Cheers it took a lot of swearing and effort to strip it lol but yea maybe your right. I think I will choose what cranks when iv painted the frame because I think black cranks would look mank with a white frame. But I was thinking about doin it all black with white decals or a really dark purple almost like a Cadburys purple.
