Reviews seem good on the Nic.
I'll probably do tubless now - I was eventually running 26psi on that front tyre yesterday. How long does that Stans sealant tend to last before I have to confront the nasty dried up mess on the inside of my tyres?
Also, how does it affect the lifespan of the rubber?

I think it lasts about 6 months, but I think it depends on the make up of the tyre.
No idea how it affects the tyre - I haven't been using it enough. I'd hope that I'd wear the tyre out before the sealant rotted it though?

I think it lasts about 6 months.
Hmm, so I'd need to replace it every 2-3 rides :-/

Mmmm. I'm not sure you must scoop out the old dry stuff. But it's probably best practice to do so.
I never bothered. But I think I'll do it when I build up Stanton.

Tbh, I've never had any issues running low pressures with tubes, other than the occasional pinch flat when riding down steps.
I have read that the lack of tube makes the tyre deform slightly better, though my main interest is in not having to avoid all the local farm tracks, after the hawthorn has been cut.

Norfolk is rad.

I use joes no flats solution.....and a lob of glitter!
This works up to 3mm splits, no problem. I don't often go lower than 30psi, as I have to ride to the place! When it's dry, I run 45psi.....basically, rock hard on a 29'er. This works for me.

Glitter?!
Hmm, did you discover this by accident :-D
Those seem like high pressures, but I recall you mentioning problems with the sealant 'burping'. Possibly just a characteristic of your particular rim/tyre combo?
Still, in terms of ride comfort, you're all flashy full-suss these days.

Ok, just a quick check on who's still riding tomorrow
As far as I can see, tomorrow will be far less of a structured day than initially planned. It is still first and foremost a beginners ride and will be at a slower pace than usual. I'll be avoiding the more technical sections as in the current wet conditions, they genuinely do become technical. The forest on Thursday was a good deal more slippery than any of the Spring rides ( even the very wet one ) and I don't want any of you to be put off riding by a bad experience.
Basically, I'm looking at a very casual ride, with a couple of ( relatively ) challenging sections thrown in + plenty of stops to ask questions, work out bike set up and hopefully come away feeling better about doing this kind of thing in the future.
So

Like a spaghetti western, with my non-weepy eye I've blinked first.
A thousand times sorry but with the mucus level aim currently operating at, I'm gonna be a whole more useless than normal - cursed by a heavy man-flu which took hold today to ruin a weekend.
Very sorry, will bring extra cake and beer next times.

I'm quite happy with that 2.25/2.4" Ardent combo after yesterday ( after I'd lowered the pressures a bit! )
Next step is to get them tubeless I suppose :-/
