  • Now Christmas is coming and toys are on my horizon for my 6 year old. However, they don't (as many things do) seem as good as they once did. For example, the Nerf gun is good fun, but its soft foam dart is poor when compared the lethal fire power of the sekiden gun and it's plastic pellets. Don't get me started on Action Man...,

  • potato pellet gun. pea shooter.

  • i was gonna post this. never had one. my neighbour did, i was green with envy.

  • Edit: never actually had a Big Trak but Daniel Manders from round the corner had one and I thought it was the nuts!

  • made in mexico?

  • Is that right? I didn't know. As far as I was concerned it was from outer space and was the dogs bollocks! Best use of magnets (yes magnets) and clockwork ever. Really clever stuff. Loved it.

  • Scalextric, accept no imitations.

If you got bored of the racing you can always lick the track, or was that just me?

  • Marble Run would be a perfect toy for a 6 year old in my opinion. A really big one.

Gyroscopic loveliness! My Mum's walls and skirting boards were properly scuffed up from this hick daredevil's non stop antics.

Not just you. Mmm fizzy! And the smell of those copper coil motors after they'd been running hot for an hour or so. Really evocative.

  • I have the best toys :)
But they all had warnings on the box saying "this is not a toy"

It's all coming back. I wonder how much childhood toys shape the person you become, for example my brother loved his Meccano, now he's a civil engineer.

  • And I liked crashing stunt bikes, spacemen and a big robot tank that could be programmed to bring me snacks... Hmmm...

  • Corgi FTW!

I had all these, and loads more... le sigh

    I loved playing Guess Who

Now i make a living as a police line up extra

  • Need , got , got , got , got . ^^
