Toys of your youth

Now Christmas is coming and toys are on my horizon for my 6 year old. However, they don't (as many things do) seem as good as they once did. For example, the Nerf gun is good fun, but its soft foam dart is poor when compared the lethal fire power of the sekiden gun and it's plastic pellets. Don't get me started on Action Man...,

Is that right? I didn't know. As far as I was concerned it was from outer space and was the dogs bollocks! Best use of magnets (yes magnets) and clockwork ever. Really clever stuff. Loved it.

Gyroscopic loveliness! My Mum's walls and skirting boards were properly scuffed up from this hick daredevil's non stop antics.

It's all coming back. I wonder how much childhood toys shape the person you become, for example my brother loved his Meccano, now he's a civil engineer.

And I liked crashing stunt bikes, spacemen and a big robot tank that could be programmed to bring me snacks... Hmmm...
