Ingress - Google's Augmented Reality Game

So, Google have launched a Augmented Reality Game, Ingress. I've requested an invite, and started digging around it, anyone else got into it yet?

I'm trying to list everything that I've found on it in one thread, so that people can help each other if they want to. I didn't want to just put it into the Games thread, or the Android thread, as I think that it's a bit more that either of them.

I'll try to keep this updated as I find more, or other people do...

It's interesting from what I've been able to play with so far. It would be awesome with Googles Project Glass!

I keep trying to play, but everything is too far away from me at the moment. I'll keep sending them likely locations, and see if any take, and if they do, then I'm on it, but we'll have to see...

Got my code this weekend, need to find some low-level portals to have a go at. My nearest seems to be 1.5 miles away and is a tooled-up enemy one. Looked pretty on the screen though.

I've been stuck attacking high level portals over the last few weeks. At least I get AP for hacking portals in tooting...

There only 2 portals on Basildon.
1 enlightened 1 resistance
Been attacking the smurf one daily, this morning it has become green by someone else's hand. So both are now enlightened.
I deployed a couple of portals to strengthen it.
How do I link the 2 together?

Also, I submitted a couple of suggestions and got accepted, for a couple of weeks to wait for them to launch. Need to start commuting a long way to get them all in!

You can hack any colour portal, sometimes you get a portal key.

If you get a key from portal A, that will be the key for that portal, so to make a link between portals A and B, take key A to portal B.

making the link uses the key up, making it harder to keep an eye on it. You can get muliple keys for portals

I have keys to both portals.

Made two tiny fields today (each side <100m), and one dagger of a field, 600m long and 15m wide! First one got me over the threshold for becoming L2. Productive evening even if the opposition took vast swathes before I even left work.
