Councillor Michael Stanton is a cunt

Might be worth letting the council's standards committee know what you think of Cllr Stanton. Calling him a cunt is unlikely to cut much weight; suggesting he's bringing the council and his position as a councillor into disrepute might.

Finding a specific breach of the council's code of conduct for Members (appropriate, I know) would be even better - maybe clause 3(12), although that's wishy-washy crap about treating people with respect.

I commute through repton every work day so this one is close to my heart, i have already emailed the CTC and the councils complaints department .
Although calling Mr Stanton names is fun complaining to the proper channels will do more if enough people do so .

I live in green Brighton, if I want a 'council' garage to store my bike, I have to have a car.
If I had a car and pulled out of 'my' garage, and hit or missed a cyclist, who cares?

For sure, this councillor has made some absurd comments which he should be pulled up on, but calling people a c*** won't ever achieve anything except angering them, making them defensive, and vindicating and/or exacerbating existing beliefs.

to be fair CPC training can have a big impact on drivers

getting out on the road and seeing what it is like often changes their perspective

so cycle training could change his views

I was being a little facetious but actually yes, training would probably be beneficial, just as it is to cyclists. Not really a question of 'listening'. If they can see for themselves what it is like for cyclists, they may change their perspective and be more considerate.

Cyclists too should sit in a lorry cab to see what drivers see. I also think cyclists who have a driving license/driving experience have an advantage. Unless you drive, I don't think many of cyclists appreciate how scary/unpleasant it is for drivers some times, and let's not forget that road rage doesn't just exist in motorists.

According to this recent DfT poll "80% of cyclists hold a driving licence, and 1 in 5 drivers cycling at least once a month". Make of that what you will.

How about everyone learns to drive all vehicles? motorbikes, cars, light good vehicle, buses and articulate lorries?
