  • Looks like a stool to me.

  • Must have been hard to pass

  • Think it's this one:

    Sealey SCR14.

  • Congratulations Soul, you win this months special prize!

To claim your fantastic prize, simply pm me your name, address & bank account details.

  • Sweet! PM coming.... i hope it's something awesome like Nigerian Dollars from forgotten accounts!

  • ^haha rep'd

  • This thread is fucked! I can't believe you've done this to such a classic vintage potting shed.

Obviously, the shed should have been restored to its original state, using NOS bins and flowerpots, with a traditional creosote paint job, rather than being converted in this gaudy modernisation.

    Vintage shed fail.

  • "You must spread some reputation around before giving it to Tea_Bee again" :-D

  • NOS bins & flowerpots go for silly money on ebay ;-)

I shall expect a visit from Kevin Mccloud shortly to chastise me for my insensitive approach to this job.

  • I bet he really meant 'NJS flowerpots', too.

  • NJS pots wouldn't be authentic for the restoration project.

  • Having just found (and read) this thread, I salute you Sir!

I've been putting off kitting out my garage into a fully usable workshop, got put on the back burner so's I could complete my current bike, and kitting myself out properly for winter, and redecorating, and trying to work out how to bump off the miserable old bat next doors (and get away with it), and having crashing, and subsequent injured arm, and...

Oh fuck it, I'm just making excuses ain't I? >_<

  • Oh fuck it, I'm just making excuses ain't I? >_<

    I'm brilliant at excuses :-D

Just try & do one thing at a time though. Even if it's only getting your workshop ideas written down, rather than having all the ideas simply floating about in your head. I won't be finishing this shed for quite some time, but it doesn't really bother me any more.

Try starting a workshop thread too. It gives you a little bit more incentive when other people become interested in your project.

    Good luck.

  • ITry starting a workshop thread too. It gives you a little bit more incentive when other people become interested in your project.

So that would be why you didn't post the thread until after you'd built it?

Ha, I'm happy for other people to learn from my mistakes ;-)

  • My big mistake was putting my bike shed on my roof. It is flat so it works only the wind blew strongly last night and blew it down :( Cry big time will have to start all over again.

  • Love yhis thread, but makes me realise I have lots of work to do in my garage...

  • I'm hoping to start work back down in the shed next week. Whilst my tubular heaters are doing a good job of keeping the damp at bay, I don't like trying to do fiddly jobs with cold hands.

    So enter.....

  • not a bad idea, i can only manage about 10 minutes at a time in my garage at the moment and then I need to have a cup of tea to warm up

  • I could have just used some HTFU I suppose. However, on this occasion being warm was the preferred option.

  • I don't need it on for very long. I'm currently testing it & it raises the morning temperature inside from 5-6%c up to 11-12%c in just under an hour. Then I set the thermostat.

I use my nose as a gauge. If it's dripping, then I'm too cold :-)

  • great thread....great shed, BN!
Looking to move house......looking at houses with large garages/out-houses....cheating, I know!

  • Wood fired heater not an option?

The appeal of going to the woods with a trailer to get fuel appeals to me, over paying the electricity company.

  • I honestly don't know where I'd begin with setting that up ( apart from google ) It'd probably need incorporating into the plan at an earlier stage. Space is rather limiting down in that corner of the garden.

I would like some decent wood drying storage though.
