  • Congrats on making a nice clean break from England!

Keep us posted on your adventures :p

  • How's it going Ed? Giles?

    Are you still alive?

  • Probably been skinned alive and buggered somewhere in France.

  • I thought that was the traditional Moroccan greating

  • I wonder if Ed's armed with plenty of onions?

  • John Cale - Strange Times in Casablanca - YouTube

Being skinned alive and buggered, perhaps in Dieppe, would at least make for an original postcard home.

  • "No onions were harmed during the completion of this ride".

  • won't somebody think about the vaginas?

  • I do. Daily.

  • are they saucy?

  • Not always.

They are alive. Passed Bordeaux yesterday...

I wonder if Ed's armed with plenty of onions?

    And what's this about onions?

  • If you don't know best not ask...

    ....because he'll soon show you

  • already past bordeaux .. in three days
thats like 160 miles a day or so
    good work

    Should I be worried?

Ah. He's not in Bordeaux. Will pass La Rochelle today, and Bordeaux tomorrow. (He can't text)

  • Hi kati!

There's nothing to worry about :)

Are you going to meet him en route somewhere or at the end?

    Ax

  • lets get a bunch of these made up for their welcoming party

  • Think I'm meeting him at the airport when they fly back. No clue when that'll be though (which is why I'm not meeting them out there).

  • Best of luck Ed! Donated :)

  • WTF are they?

  • We've done 550 miles in 7 days, currently in Agen, due to Giles mishap two days ago, he broke 4 spokes on his rear wheel so we have to mount his rack on my bike so I can carry both I and Giles stuff 34km to the nearest bike shop to get the wheel replaced.

My bike truly look like a round the world tourer made worse by the punty 48/20 gearing that make it impossible to climb a slight ascent.

Then yesterday he got a puncture (don't know why I don't, I got the thinnest tyres imaginable), so i rode a 60km round trip to the nearest decalthon to get the fucking inner tube that he forget to buy on a Saturday where bike shop in sleepy French town re closed.

We lost about a day worth of ride, but we've been doing almost an average of 75 miles a day, it's not too bad.

  • We're just 100km from Tolouse as I write this.

  • Excellent work Ed. keep going.

  • Mind you, Giles sounds like a liability.

  • Well done, Ed and Giles. And what a hero you are!

Isn't that just the Law of Punctures? (Someone must have worked out a formula for how the thickness of tyre, location, weather, whether you have the right tools/spare tube, your co-rider's tyres etc. affects the probability and frequency of getting a flat.)

Looking forward to seeing some photos of your epic journey, otherwise, obviously it didn't happen ;)
