I just deleted the default folders and set my own, seperate tv series and films then go to settings and agents and set the plex/imdb/whatever higher than user defined and it will fix all the metadata.

Media center master is excellent for sorting out filenames and metadata for TV shows and films

can i add old movies from another harddrive onto the NAS via Plex?

That part i got. It's specific to Netgear genie and ipv6 tab. Loads of selections, probably too many. Easy to find most stuff online, YouTube. But with this, they all use previous, massively less complicated iteration of netgenie. 1 tab, 2 rows, right number of spaces. Instead mine has 1 tab, 10 dropdowns, 15 questions, and way to many boxes.

Tried rufus(?) to create a bootable USB stick but it doesn't seem to work no matter what options I use. Any ideas for getting a 10+ year old machine booting off USB? Tried in newer machines and the same stick doesn't work either so I think it's the USB not the old machine. Boot order obviously set to USB before HDD in both cases.

Also I have a HP V104 battery that I found - anyone want it to see if it's still got juice? If not, where can I recycle it?

Then simply extract Win10 iso content into the USB drive.

Doubt it. Microsoft provides a tool for doing that.

I've seen a couple of theirs and I think one didn't work and the other one wanted to download the whole iso, when I already have it on a drive.

I'll give this a go. Found a Win7 iso for now. I have the win10 iso split over two discs and can't be arsed extracting if win7 works.

Nope, that fucking thing didn't work. Boots straight into existing Win8 on my old lappie.

Begs another question: why did none of my fucking win7 recovery and installer discs not work in that machine? Bin time...

Most likely laptop doesn't support boot from USB. Even tho it says it does.
