Headed out all eager for this but right now A&E seems like the best bet. Have fun out there.
Car pulled out on me. Stuffed my elbow.

Heal up soon mate and hope its not too serious!

Had to pull out after 25 miles and head to Horsham, as my knees are a pile of shite. Twas good fun, with a couple of more technical downhills.
Slow going, mind.

Perfect ride - many thanks Velocio for organising, routing and running the show
:) Nice to meet everyone else and hopefully see you on a ride soon.Lardboy - hope the knee heals up quick.

A great ride I thought.
Sure it was brilliant to get to Brighton, but I think I enjoyed the mess of ups & downs at the beginning more than the Downs Link. The Downs Link gets you somewhere, the ups & downs let you enjoy getting almost nowhere.
A blast though, and it was lovely having chips on the beach at the end.

I hope everyone made it home safe and sound. That East Croydon stop was a bad idea after all, I did not need that extra hour's ride at the end. Oh well.

It was fun. I'd agree with velocio. The fun bit is start. Pity I had to pull out early. In the end I only just made it back on time!
Howard - let me know when you're heading to swinley next. -

Good to meet you nev, nice kona.
Beautiful ride, thanks again for organising it Velocio. I liked the bit where we talked about Belle and Sebastian. And the bit where we went over the bridge the wrong way and met the two men in a van with the wierd looking dog with the white face. Also the river, the woodpecker and the bit of singletrack through the woods were good.
I went back the way we came and climbed the downs as the sun went down. It was cold. -

and the guinness and chips were good but we weren't at sea level and I didnt like the music. After I left I bought a hotdog and rode down the promenade eating it and steering with my knees, that was good.

Great ride, and good to meet all new faces. Cheers for biological and electronic leading, I had no clue about my whereabouts for most of the day so would have been lost without that. Always nice to explore new territory, the forecast rain did'nt happen and only 1 p***ture,so all good there.
Sorry we had to lose Lardboy but glad he make out of the wilds OK. Was quite cold at the finish which I think rather curtailed the apres ride beverages which was a shame. Hope Howard scored the bling cranks he rode uphill, down dale and through thicket to collect.

Yeah, let’s do it. I’m on holiday until 2nd and we can talk through logistics then?
@umop3pisdn too maybe, your neck of the woods?
-
• #221
I'm going to start as early, 7am for a 7.30am depart, sun should be up by the time we leave streetlamp lit areas.
-
• #222
oof ok, not gonna take the train a bit out of town?
-
• #223
Would love to but I'm working.
-
• #224
train a bit out of town?
Hmm, probably not. Might take the train home though.
As I'm starting from West Norwood, I could easily ride west to a more southerly start point, instead of riding northwest to Richmond.
