  • That accusation hurts...

Hehe. It was a toss-up between that or saying that Tricky Business had put one in, but I was too lazy to check the route.

I rather fear that TB may have given the organisers ideas now ... :)

Ha ha, I hope so, there has to be something to make up for not riding the whole of Gipsy Hill. Describing the short stretch to the Tavern as "lung busting" is pushing it a bit I think, even for a lazy sprinter like me.

  • LFGSS / Flanders crew meetup at the junction of Belvedere Road and Gypsy Hill at 10am? Leave at 10:15am or so.

Is that for the drink after the ride or for the start?

  • It is a bit back from the Tavern in case there is a large group there
perfect and a nice sociable pace for the lfgss flem away team.. 20 days and counting :-)

  • Is that for the drink after the ride or for the start?

That would be the start, as the Flanders crew gets up at the crack of dawn on a weekend for nobody, not even the Cobblemonster.

  • i've got a place but won't be showing up to this ride. if anyone wants my spot and knows how it can be transferred, let me know via PM.

  • I haz drawn route for GPS... http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1039413

Thanks for that Tim, I shall load that into the Garmin.

    Anyone else going early?

  • I'd better aim at an early start - I'll have been off the alcofrol the night before because of picking up offspring from a gig in New Cross, and then I'd better finish the ride and get home because some of the Luddlets will be home alone and the third one will be trailing home from town at lunchtime (unless they come to the pub for lunch - now there's an idea!)

  • Somebody, for the love of Jah, remind me what time this starts?

  • anytime you want mate.

  • Despite being out for a night tomorrow, ill be in for an early-ish start. Aiming for 9am.
A bit of chill in the air might help I think.

  • Somebody, for the love of Jah, remind me what time this starts?

    starts 8am onwards.

My mate ben I was doing it with has chickened out (by which I mean he is racing at Herne hill instead) so would be nice to grab a pint at the end if anyone's around... The white hart has bike friendly outdoor seating, as does westow house, in case anyones wondering where to go, I live just near the start/finish.

  • LFGSS / Flanders crew meetup at the junction of Belvedere Road and Gypsy Hill at 10am? Leave at 10:15am or so.

Would be up for that. Will be on a geared red and blue basso. Thought about doing it fixed but the posh bike hasnt had a proper outing in weeks.

    DIbs!

  • Won't be able to make this. Does anyone want my spot? No. 45

    Send me a PM please.

  • Will be there around 10-10:30 though likely straight to pub as I'm with a mate who's not on the forum. I'll be on a black Dolan with deep rimmed rear (wow) and my mate is on a cervelo / has a skinhead. Will no doubt uncover people's lfgss alias's urging the ride / will spot almac68 - see you tomorrow folks.

  • I reckon I'm going to try and get an early start (even though I'm dj'ing until 2am the night before) and rolling light and early with my brother and TO_Messenger.

No doubt see plenty of you around during the day and deffo in pub after. There are going to be some bike jumble bargains to be had not to mention some hella sweet raffle prizes!

I'll be on a stickered Charge Plug with white risers and blue grips and black FSA
cranks. Himself is on a green Soma...holla!

  • I'm new to this forum and don't know anybody, but any free places on this ride? Yes please :-)

  • Thanks Prav.

  • Will get there around ten then, guessing I will recognise the lfgss team by the fixed gears and mangled teeth. ( he says looking in the mirror), would be nice to meet some forum members as only met those who I have had deals with in classifieds so far, I am on a Rattlecanned black track beater with a white charge dish rear wheel and brooks saddle...looking forward to it !!

  • Sorry guys I am old school so will be there at 8:00 cann't be doing with 10 o'clock starts see you in the pub afterwards or at the Streatham Kite day http://www.streathamkiteday.org.uk/

  • I've been done over by one of my dicknosed colleagues and am going to have to work all day tomorrow, so...out. Dissapointed to be missing a fantastic day exploring London town and all the fun that follows.

#34 is up for grabs though, so any takers, PM me to grab a place.

  • Sorry to hear that, Sammy. Hope your workday is not too long.

  • Phew - signs up!

Just a caution to anyone relying on gpx files - looking at the route posted above a few tiny lanes seem missing ie there are two stepney greens in real life that run parallel to each other - you should be on the 1st one - a long cobbled alleyway...got a funny feeling your garmin will make you miss this and take the paved road...shame as its certainly the queen sector of pave.

Similarly there is no mention of Meetling House Alley in Wapping - just Tench St, Chander St and Reardon st..this will also make you miss a sector.

    Follow the 'arras!
