  • oh charmed I'm sure.

  • Westbourne Park to Barbican. Averaged about 15 mph despite traffic lights I think. Didn't even break a sweat.

  • got on an overground tube once at Westbourne Park in 1987 and this woman sparked up a stinky resin J
blase as anything smoked it all before getting bollocked by station staff
amazing what you remember isnt it?

  • Bollocked for not following the appropriate spliff politics and passing it round? She deserved that.

  • Do you have to do anything with the app on your phone before you set off? Does your phone need to 'see' the sky, or can it be in a bag? Do you need GPS on whilst using app? Should I just check the app FAQ's on the website?

Yes, Kind of, Yes, Yes, Maybe

  • Its even better when you are King of the Mountain, then some random sends you an email to say "Well done out there, lets not let christmas ruin our training, hey?"

    Freeeeeeeeaky......

  • Strava is responsible for every hobby cyclist's ride now being a "training ride, on my winter training beik". um...myself included.

I'm off to bash out some segmentz.

  • Slad road looks beautiful.

    :(

  • Some of us are actually training..

  • People who don't make their commutes private can >>>
I'm all for logging component wear and total mileage, but people inflicting the same route, twice a day, on everyone in their feed is angering me.

/just bitter because all my KOMs from last year have been toppled.

Although the Old Kent Road is still mine. In your face, Mat Hammond.

Now that's an idea I'd not thought of, private they shall be.

Unless I finally have enough in the tank to topple Tiswas and his rather inconvenient KOM of my bloody drive.

Guilty of this, did not realise you can make rides private... Sorry Tom wont happen again, I promise...

  • I will race you, to be the first to commute home along a path that spells "ha ha Tom suck it"

  • The racing scene is tough out there in the mornings and evenings. Especially on "Kennington Road" and "Brixton Road" race circuits. Some people risk their lives. I have even witnessed a crash in a bunch sprint for Loughborough Road Junction traffic lights a few weeks ago. Those Kudos must mean so much to some people. I must train harder!

Yeah, look at this dick recording his ride to the pub, who cares.

  • ^^ on the plus side, at least you get to practice your bunch sprints on the way home ;)

  • I save my legs for col de la Fountain Drive on the way home.

It's fantastic. Although I was almost a minute slower up it this evening than at the start of December.

For 24h TTs right? Which event(s)?

  • There's only one 24hr this year. Mersey Roads in late July.
I'll be doing other events too as I want to get into BBAR and Long BAR classifications as well as having a crack at the 12hr and 24hr club records again.

  • ^ from the event facebook page.

I've just had a look to see if the Cheltenham club I ride with has a record...

    1983, S.Cook, 463.299 miles

    Hardcore.

  • 463.299 miles

    Ouch.

The idiot in me now wants to have a stab at this, not that I'd get **anywhere **near that. The sensible part of me is talking him down.

Would like to get 200 miles in a day ticked off the list, but thinking back to the of of the Dynamo I can't imagine getting back on the bike at that point and doing another 80-90 miles.

This is me on Strava, where I proudly display all my short commute rides: http://app.strava.com/athletes/163098

  • I've joined Strava but not actually uploaded any rides yet.

Sparky I'd be up for giving the 200 miles a go. I reckon you'd be fine mate just remember to eat and keep well hydrated.

Mm, I've been wondering if I should do this. I'm only followed by a couple of people but I am clogging up the LFGSS feed. Will privatise from now on (unless I manage something epic on Dalston Lane or whatever).

Might try it at some point this summer. Maybe Dunwich Dynamo and on to Norwich, something like that.

I love the valleys around Stroud... ahhh happy memories of my youth, smoking shit loads of soapbar and reading Laurie Lee.

This.^ Social media ride tracking oneupmanship. Sounds utterly wack. I'm with m.f. Fucking commuter racing is for twunts.
