Head Office are paying us a visit again in May so there is Plenty of time to dust off the sub forum bunting and sharpen the pitchforks.

    missives to follow.

  • Sharpening pedal spanner into miniature pitch fork

  • pics or it didnt happen etc.....

  • I'll be down like a town with a gown, or something.

  • gwan dahrn tarhn inna garn innit

  • Q. What colour is a Cockney's breakfast cereal?

    A. It's all braan!

  • It's also the Cycle Oxford festival that weekend so there should be lots going on.

I'm sure I posted about this ride on the OCW facebook page but can't seem to find it now.

  • "O. C. W. "

    I've got obsessive, compulsive...

What does the wubble yew stand for?

  • workshop

    wanksoundstoobad

  • locks and runners and chimney sweeps needed to help the head office charity megathon.

"I am pretty sure all we will need is a couple of look outs by the bikes, and a long cable/chain and single lock around the assembled steeds.

A few of our posse are looking not to run, but just in case they have to bail, it would be good to have a couple of local team members on stand by.

Obviously, if you have any runners in your platoon, who want to join in the fancy dress festivities, they will be more than welcome, especially if they can raise some money for the charity. If you could sort a few drain rod handles, with brushes on the end, and a bag of soot, for the "gor Blimey" dance routine at the end, that would also be good!"

FOB, I'm having trouble decyphering your Cockerknee accent, is that an invitation to come and sweep your chimney? (euph?)

  • URGENT SHOUT OUT

Oxford Mail want to do a piece about us, with picture under the Bridge of Sighs, midday this Friday.

Anyone else able to turn up with chimney sweeps outfit, or Mary Poppins attire, and a bike?

PM me if you can. The charity are mad keen to increase the exposure of the event, and really would appreciate any support that we can give them.

  • PHOTO SHOOT; CONFIRMED FOR TOMORROW

I tried to persuade newspaper, and charity, that the last thing they wanted was me and a bike on my own, but they seem to be desperate.

Therefore, confirmed booking with Oxford Mail at 12 noon, tomorrow Friday, to take picture under the Bridge of Sighs, Hertford College, OX1 3BW.

Anyone else able to turn up with chimney sweeps outfit, or Mary Poppins attire, and a bike will be more than welcome, and have my eternal thanks

PM me if you are able to attend.

  • Would any of the other "Just South of Oxford Country Bumpkins" be interested in meeting the Londoners for the last section of the ride? Perhaps at Watlington?

  • great god allmighty! how could i have missed this post? damn damn damn fffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu¬≠uuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was planning to join them at Watlington for the last few miles and then do the run. It would be great if there were other 'locals' joining the ride too.

  • as my name suggests running is a major health hazard for me! but Booga seems keen and there are a few others who might want to.

  • FOB, what about cycling though? I'm going to be cycling but not running myself.

  • good point,

  • Right there is a cycle drop off point/lock up/bouncer protection [me] on the corner of parks road and keeble road. I will have some kind of pitchfork/flag/marker to indicate my legitimacy. Riders can leave thier bikes there with me for the duration of the run and or go shopping. would any one like me to have a case or two of water/beer/redbull//marsbars with me for nourishment.?

    FOB, you diamond.

We will be travelling light, so a cheery wave and large "thank you!" is likely to be our only offering.

However, our gratitude in the Turf will be both liquid and copious.

If anyone can help with the fundraising, that would be most appreciated. Full guff on the Town and Gown thread, including a link to the Just Giving page, and article in the Oxford Mail, explaining the work of MS Campaign.
