Oh yeah that is better. I might be able to call by there on Wednesday too!
StreetView pic is from 2011; plenty of time for farmer to build a second fence.
Nice work. I knew it was Chrome, but couldn't figure out which road/track it was taken from.
Now I just need to visit these places in real life...!
Close enough. Threw a new tag up, nice and easy to try and get things moving (and because there was fuck all visibility most of the day).
The views in the Peak are spectacular this time of year. The heather's out, the fields are green...
And the sky is grey, lovely!
@atk It’s very similar in Catalunya at the moment. Bit less grey?
Needs more heather.

Nice. One of my favourite bits of dry stone walling that. Lovely cover band on that stretch you’ve pictured on the right hand side looking down the hill. Not had much time to ride lately so don’t rate my chances of getting out to grab the baton.
Anyone been up the bridleway from Hayfield to Mount Famine/South Head via Highgate Rd, and then over to Sheffield Road recently? Is it nice fast hardpack, or am I expecting a long grassy/rocky slog if I'm on a "road+" bike?
Heading over to Hathersage on Sunday and trying to balance fun and fast with my route planning. Need to be on time, but don't really want to be waking up too early...
Not recently, but I remember it being more sandy/grav+ with the odd bit of rocks. Rode it on 40c, friends on 32/35s? Not grassy. There was one deep puddly bit at the top of Highgate Rd IIRC; only a brief interlude, not a death march.
There's a bit of a social ride from Hathersage looping round Eyam and High Rake, meeting at 10am if you're interested?
Yeah, that's what I'm heading over to. Figure I'd make a day of it and throw in some bits I haven't ridden for a while. Obviously now realising how early I need to set off, but I guess it's just a good excuse to drink a lot of coffee and snack on everything.
Ah nice. I'm hoping to be able to make it.
Alpkit in Hathersage have a load of bikepacking bags on sale at the moment, around 50% off because the gear has the old logo on - if anyone is after something.
Tour of Britain skirts the peaks this week on Thursday. Who is out to watch and where? Annoyingly I have a day off on Thursday but I’m not sure I can see them over the top of brickworks and get home for school pick up
Going to see what I've got on at work. Might try and nip over to High Legh. Won't be the most exciting stretch of road, but it's a quieter ride out for me.
How was the PGG ride? Photos looked good. I was awake half the night then slept straight through my 6am alarm.
Seemed like a nice group. "Leaders" were nice and encouraging, group seemed to stay together pretty well (no egos haring off the front). Excellent small lanes/gravelly byways knowledge.
Sportive round the edge of the peaks with all entry fees going to the charity. Places still available today when I entered
^ looks good routes.
In other news I've agreed to go and look at Bamford Clough tomorrow. I mean, it's only a 500m sit n spin effort, right?
Getting there via some of the normal brutal climbs. It is going to be a long afternoon.
Yowsers! Good luck with that.
We will probably just look at it tbh!
I fancy a go at that! It’s a lovely ride if you take the steady climb that it joins and carry on up. The test will be can I be bothered/ able to turn right at the top and carry on the loop to Hathersage?
