Wanted: Shimano Tiagra RH Sti Lever 9-Speed

My RH shimano tiagra 9-speed sti lever died a death last weekend,managed to get home on a very high gear
Anyone have one in amongst the parts boxes

mine has crack in the plastic handle body but ratchet mech is all working fine

it sounds like yours has given up the ghost on the ratchet mechanism ?

it's an easy fix to put my mech on your handle.

and here's a tip for everyone: if your shifter ever breaks (or cable snaps) you can sometimes use the cable stop to get the chain to run on one of the cogs near the middle of the range - same can be said of using the front mech to up the gear if the cable on that has broken .

alternatively for rear if cable is still ok but shifter is goosed and cable stop will not push it far up the block :
push rear mech with your hand and turn cranks to get it into a lower gear (bigger cog) - you should have some slack rear-gear cable now.
loosen cable clamp at rear mech and pull slack through - and re tighten the cable clamp - the cable will hold the mech further up the casette - any of the rear cogs can be selected in this way, you can even still use the mech cable adjuster to get the chain running smooth on the new lower gear it's stuck in and use the front mech to change gears on the chain ring - that will not be affected.
that should give you a lower gear to get you home if you're facing a hilly return .

(this 2nd method can even be used with a broken cable as long as you can secure the front of the cable on the bike somewhere (e.g. clamp it under one of the STI downtube cable stops or under a bottle cage on the donwtube or the seat tube.
if things are really desperate and cable is short you can even clamp it under the front mech band on clamp or backwards from the chainstay cable stop and underneath QR or nut at the back wheel
