Wanted: beater 531 cheap scruffy geared bike

22" or 22.5" preferably

Would love an old Carlton / Raleigh / Dawes / Viking etc. Ideally made from Reynolds 531 or similar with Weinmann centre pull brakes or cantilevers, as I want to fit 30mm cyclocross tryes.

Ratty looking / in need of repair not important.

got most of the parts now apart from a frame - so anyone got a 531 22" / 22.5 incher they want to convert to a (small) bunch of tenners? :)

I have a tatty 22 1/2 Falcon Olympic beater frame 531 main tubes and forks.
Takes 27 inch so bags of space for big tyres.
Has new tange headset

Is this sorted? If not, I have a Falcon "designed by Ernie Clements" bike available. Meets some of your specs: 27x1 1/4 wheels; Weinmann Vainqueur centre-pull brakes; geared (Shimano 600). Large frame tho' 59/60cm and I'd be looking for a bit more than £50 for it.

^ Nice one Errol but I ended up buying the £30 Falcon above, still looking for a pair of wheels though, would you be interested in selling me those 27inchers?

Would be willing, but want to try to get rid of the whole thing first. Will let you know if there any no takers. Alternatively, how about the wheels (32-622, 5-speed) from this Claud Butler Electron?
