That's precisely what I have done, thanks loftheads!

  • ive never got mine nicked. But maybe you could glue them on?...

  • yeah... but that's TF which means you can find them somewhere else for a fourth of the price.

Tokyo Fixed is actually reasonably priced, they just don't stock "much" crap. So yeah, you'll be paying £80 for a seatpost rather than £15 from Evans, but trying and find that same seatpost anywhere else cheaper would be hard, especially with P&P from internet shops.

Nearly £80 and thats from Japan:

  • Fuji - toshi single toe straps - black £43 ???????????????????????????????????????

  • woah - don't get me wrong, I love TF, I got my frame there and a shed load of parts. But when I was looking into building my last bike, although it was the only place I could get the frame that I wanted, getting all the other parts was way cheaper to get elsewhere.
But really, I think they have a good selection of stock, the staff are ace, I like the place but the mark-up is higher than other places. That is all.

  • I don't agree with you Monsta. That why we've got internetz.

Yeah that'd be for single toe straps, not double...

And yeah it can be cheaper online, but in most cases for good components the P&P brings it back up to TFG prices I find. Maybe get a couple of quid off, but I think it's worth it for supporting your local bike shop.

Anyway, derailed completely! My point to the original OP was that the straps he's looking at are not expensive and look hideous anyway, so probably the best bet if you DONT want to get them stolen....

  • Definitely, much better straps were offered by various crafty LFGSS members.

  • Someone please put me out of my misery. I love these pedals but suspect they are strap intolerant. Is this true? I need foot retention and if these pedals, despite their beauty, cannot offer me this then we will only ever be friends from a distance. Le sob:

  • There's nowhere to attach a strap. You can't screw them onto the platform and you can't thread the velcro strap through anything.

  • ^ that's what I thought but it still hurts :(

  • actually you could if you got something like devisl falcons straps you can take the two little retaining flaps and instead of putting them straight across underneath the pedal(they would slide off the open end) you can cross them over so that they are secured by pulling against the pedal axle....i think

  • i think they'd be too narrow for that though. The pedals too narrow for the straps I mean.
