I'm going to cycle from London to Basel (Switzerland). Wondered if anyone has done something similar...
I'm thinking about getting the ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe, so the interesting part would be all the way through France...
any route advice?
I did London to Basel back in 1987 and took the flat route. Ferry to Oostende, up into Holland (crossing the border near Sluys (sp?)) then across via Breda and Tilburg to the Rhine near Kleve, then along the west bank of the Rhine to Worms, over the Rhine and further south to Basel. Very straightforward, very flat!
city airport -> basel airport.
Ride is done.! Fixed and SS, the route is up now on: londontobasel.wordpress.com if anyone is intrested.
