Wanted: Vitus fork

I am looking for a fork to fit a 52cm Vitus 979 (ie the matching fork!) If anyone has anything please pm me as I have just had a pair sent over from holland only to find that the steerer is too short.

Hi, I've got some 979 forks, which from memorry have a 210mm steerer (should be enough for a 52cm frame). I can look to get some exact measurements if your interested.

Very interested I need to check the steerer length on the current set. How much do you want for them?

I'm in the same boat as milko, bought a set of forks for my 979 and steerer isn't long enough. Anyone else got some they want rid of?

how long do you need the steerer to be because I obviously have the last set I bought alternatively the set you have now might fit mine and corbleu could sell you his? steerer on the pair i have currently is 186mm, someone cut them down rather crudely but otherwise they're in good nick. My head tube is 170mm, so i guess i need a steerer of something like 195mm at minimum? i'm kind of a novice at this though so if you can tell me otherwise...

I think that would be long enough for mine would you be able to send me some photos of the forks? Will pm you with my email and if they are you could get corbleu's pair as they had a longer steerer. How much would you want for yours posted?

Yeh I think we are dotted about the country so meeting up seems out of the question. £40 seems a bit steep I got my pair posted from holland for £35 how about I pay the same for yours as corbleu wants for his? I could potentially get one of my mates to collect from you.

what does corbleu want for his? any chance of photo's of those ones? they have 210mm steerer yeah? Don't mind putting in the post for you mate if we're all happy we're getting what we need.

Think he wants £25 for his plus postage so if I give you that for yours then none of us are any further out of pocket (apart from me being stuck with my shortarse 150mm steerer pair!)

that sounds fair seeing as you're going out of your way to get me out of a hole, cheers! So, just to clarify, i will buy corbleu's 210mm threaded forks for £25 plus postage. And you'd buy my 186mm threaded forks for the same yeah? I'm well up for this once i can get you some detailed shot's of my forks, and if i could get similar from corblue that would be cracking...

i even spent yesterday polishing the fork crown on mine before i realised i'd been a tit and bought overpriced forks that don't fit my bike, so they'll be extra shiny for you mate

Rik what is the steerer length on your forks? I might be interested if they are 186 as well.
