2011-05-13 - Rider down- Clerkenwell road farringdon road junction

Another rider down on the same junction within 8 days of the last one, didnt see it happen but saw the ambulance and the blood :( hope they were ok, if anyone knows anything let me know. Why is that junction such a hotspot for this =/

It's a very tight junction with busy flows in all four directions. Compared to the number of people using it every day, there aren't actually that many crashes, but by the law of averages it appears this way. (This is not to say that it couldn't benefit from a thorough redesign.) Hope the injury to the rider is not serious, but it sounds as if it is. :(

Also, because there is a right filter turn and unsuspecting red light jumpers often come a croper here.
Though I am in no way suggesting this particular incident was caused by this
