Looks like the motorola team ones, very nice! How quickly are you looking to sell this?

Thanks for the info sheathy. I'm really not in a hurry to sell despite my dicking around with the price. It would be good to find out a bit more about it. I know it would be worth taking off the brakes and putting them away.. In fact it would be a nice one to keep, full stop.

I would be interested in the rear mech and chainset from the Merkx. It also looks like C Record btw.

My thoughts exactly, and then just sit on the bike next to a poster of him! I also believe armstrong was on one of these (or very similar) in 1992 along side yates in the tour. I've got a picture of him on it actually as the came over to the UK for a stage that year.

by the way i may want to buy it if you feel the need to sell it in the future but definately can't afford it yet and you should enjoy it for a bit longer i think. Couple of bits you may be interested in if you do keep it for a bit, if you are feeling awesome that is ;D :

^ sorry that is actually the 1992 tour of ireland. I was wrong about the TDF, I saw him in 1994, he was in the world champs jersey. Here is a pick of him and yates wearing yellow:

Frame definitely looks like one but the sad anorak in me thinks that the team bikes were always Shimano.
Regardless, that bike is absolutely beautiful.

yeh i think woodie is right as almost certainly the actual team bikes were full DA, so this is either a replica, or some one did an awesome paint job on a different model to match the motorola bike? Also it hasn't got the right decals on to be the team bike. Doesn't make it any less lovely though!

I'm still finding out about this bike and no doubt will be accused of fishing here, but the bike is for sale. You can check it out in the window of Look Mum No Hands.
It is big, in the down tube at least it's 61cm. But the tt is 58cm with a very long stem as it stands. The frame is excellent w/ SLX tubing, pantos. It has a 'Max' paint job but i'm not sure this is accurate. Maybe someone can help me out from the frame number here (pictured). I'm told that the bike was supplied to a pro in Belgium but the guy couldn't remember his name. I'll find out more..
The bike comes with Delta brakes and (i believe) Record group/brakeset with 8-speed ergo shifters.
Wheels have beautiful Campagnolo hubs on FIR Pulsar sprint rims.
The bike has Cinelli stem and bars. The price will be £around 600, but get in touch if you're interested.
Also pls see the blog at www.heavenscycles.com for more steel bikes from Bianchi, Fangio with curved downtube, Flandria ...
