i'd be game for it like

Yeah? My missus is trying to convince me to do it next year rather than this year, so I can get fitter, better, faster, stronger etc...
There's some mental rules to it, like if you don't make the £1,400 sponsorship money required, you have to stump up the rest of the cash youself!
Maybe it should be next year, and start collecting sponsorship now ;)

do it next year then, it'll give us more time to get fitter and collect the money, i'll start collecting after i finish the edinburgh ride dude
-
• #5
i'll do it. give me time to start buying parts and building up a decent bike.
how do i get the forms as me and "tattyyfixedgearswin" (barry) will get it around work .
-

You may have to make your own form for now, by the sound of things, they'll only give you the kit if you pay £150, which means you also owe them £1,400.

I might send them an email see if we can bagsie a few slots on next years ride?

You thinking about doing it fixed, or geared? I can't work out whether I've got the stamina for a 5 day ride on the fixed... I think my legs would be in tears.
-
• #10
well i was hoping doing fixed, i find it easier than on geared, lighter bike etc. that's just me though, should we not perhaps meet up and discuss this?
-
• #11
Sounds good!
I work in town mon-fri (just behind the train station) so I'm free for beers whenever.
-
• #12
yeah, meet up needed.
we could do practice rides, do some fixed and some free then you can decide the best feel.
a few lads are training for an edinborough ride, see if we can ride with them for abit then we can carry on with longer/harder rides once there done -
• #13
we work just behind gateshead highstreet, in two tall buildings.
mon-fri 8:30 til 1:30

Right... we have to wait till August to get next years sponsorship kit/registration, so that would give us a year to get the sponsorship together.
Sounds pretty do-able.
There's 100 places available on each ride too... would be awesome to get a load of us doing it.
-
• #15
well should we meet somewhere like? just so we can discuss what the craic is?
-
• #16
Aye sounds good. You fancy meeting up after work one night next week?
I dont think I've got the funds to get into toon this weekend like.

Looks interesting. Would anyone be up for it?
I think I'd need to get some proper bloody miles in before it starts though.
