  • He does not seem to be responding to messages on here, or is it just me? ( I am trying to resolve an issue of goods apparently lost in the post. ) I am relatively new on here but understood he had a good reputation. Anyone know if he is away or something?

  • wait, and he'll get back to you

  • Might not be at his computer?
    I think he's a pretty busy guy.
I heard from him 3 or 4 days ago, and received a pair of callipers yesterday.

  • I ordered some stuff and whilst slight delay posting, it's now at my local PO waiting collection. Hilary responded to msg chasing progress v.quickly.

  • I don't think he's around much these days. He's got his own website now that he seems to be dealing through exclusively

  • Hi john,
I am aware that Hilary is on the continent currently, so it may be a couple of days before he returns.
    Regards

  • Saw the man himself yesterday. Went round his place to buy some shizzle. Told me he just got back from NL. A true gent he is too.

  • Merge a tron

  • Had to chase up something from him last week as it happens, but with a gentle nudge (or 2) he was onto it asap. Don't panic, I don't think he's hiding - just busy. Send him another PM and copy it to his email address: hilary@hilarystone.com

  • Yeah, I'm waiting for stuff from Hilary at the moment, but the guy has always been rock solid whenever I've ordered from him before. Don't sweat it. People have lives outside the interweb.

  • i ordered a frame from him the other day.
a couple of emails either way.

as above give it a couple more days.

  • he's had personal issues that have delayed a couple of transactions with me previously but he's always come good in the end. i'll always give him the benefit of the doubt.

  • I have been waiting for my stem that seems to have lost in the post. He says he's posted it 2 weeks ago. Just want my stem more than a refund really, but will give him till the end of the week to reply to my PM before sending another one. When I ordered my frame from him, it magically turn up the folllowing day after payment, so my expection with the stem delivery was quite high, oh well. I guess it really depends on what he's got on the plate at the moment when you buy sth from him. This is the downside from buying from a person rather than a company in my opinion, when the person is away, you have got to wait. Nevertheless, after this slightly negative experience, will still do business with him when he has what I want.

  • HS has been rock solid for me in the past and has a tremendous rep. I woudn't be concerned for a while yet. As Bleakreference said, people have real world lives too and as we all know, shit happens.

Was thinking about paying a visit after a ride to Brizzle in a couple of weeks actually although worried I'll leave with a armful of pretty parts.

dont want to say a bad word about HS as ive not actually bought from him yet, but i phoned up today and he couldnt have been more helpful. i asked about a stems in stock, but he said they are quite low on priority as he makes almost no money from them.

i must say after speaking with him, i will happily buy from him with confidence in the future. maybe he just hasnt got round to getting it posted yet

  • ^ He said it himself that he has posted it 2 weeks ago, so even if they stem had to walk from his to mine, it'd have arrived.

  • It's only £20 so I am not chasing after the money but my bike is missing a stem and I can't finish it. Just the itchy feeling is killing me.

  • What stem do you need?

  • Just got a reply from Mr Stone, refund on its way. Sadly I might never see the stem... :-(

  • What stem do you need?

Hey, never got round to reply to your PM, will do it soon.

I need a Cinelli 26.4mm clamp quill stem, as short as pos for little people... according to some, being 168cm is still little... :-/

This seems to be the argument with HS.

"he's been fine with me so it must be true with everyone else"

The fact is he does have problems with communication and seems to me he has bitten off more he can chew.

I might have one. Will check measurements and all and you can have it as a loaner.

Based on previous information provided, Irene, his other was ill maybe this is the cause?

It's alright now mate, I went to buy myself a nitto 26mm stem, so now the question is, have you got any 26mm cinelli bars? Or has anyone?

  • you would be better of with 3ttt bars in 26.0. cinelli bars in that size is rare in the classic shapes.

  • Why the preference for Cinelli bars if I may ask?
