  • Never eaten Portugese food. Isn't it just Piri Piri chicken and chips?

    You're the one missing out.

  • To be fair I've only been to Nandos twice, so my knowledge of Portuguese is scant at best.

  • i don't really understand the bigging up of particular countries cuisine when it's obviously not the best in the world.
the great thing about this country is you can eat and drink round the world without difficulty.
want a good curry in france? lol.

turkish and portuguese* cusine is no better than french, italian or spanish etc etc.
if you go to any of the above mentioned countries your choice of wine is usually limited to that of the country or region and anything else is looked down on. want a glass of rioja or NZ sauvingon in a french town? good luck with that. here we get a massive choice.

same with beer. beer in the U.K. is great not only do we get a choice of regional beers that are distributed out of region but we get the best of europe and the rest of the world too.

    Allow me to disagree.
You need to have stuff from everywhere because you have people from eveywhere here.
Here, it's London, not the UK. Try and have all of the above mentioned outside London... Lol. I mean you can have it, but so can you in any other country. Prove me wrong.
Besides, turks, italians, portuguese, french, spanish, greek, etc... are really food proud countries, because they have food. I mean, they know how to prepare it.

The thing I have to agree with your post is that living in London might give you an idea of other countries food. Yeah, and wine.
Britain has fuck all "cuisine", apart from fish & chips.

    *(Portug*u*ese - there's a U in it).

Nando's is a South African franchising, Portuguese inspired.
It's not Portuguese. Doesn't taste of Portuguese Chicken seasoning.
    Will never exist in Portugal.

  • al can you do turkish tea for cricket !
Nuknow you can do the cakes egg tarts please

  • Yasy333 made them.
I only tried once and didn't come out very well.

Nah don't buy this. It's famously Portuguese, it even says on the website.

  • :(

  • No.

  • I feel that almac68 was talking proudly with 'turkish food is the best in the world' and not to be taken into serious discussion and topic of who's the best. Being from Goa I have eaten fine homemade seafood food in Asia and Europe and just wished to joke lightly regarding Portuguese food. Anyway, as I said before Turkish food is wonderful...

  • :d

To my knowledge Nando's was found by man from Northern Portugal who emigrated to South Africa and started producing Portuguese food. There after a chain of Portuguese food was started in SA and brought to England...

Anyway, this is a thread about TURKEY please...

    you don't need to ask.

i would have thought that compared to rest of europe you would have more chance of finding non-indigenous food in a small town in the u.k. than most other countries. i know of Nepalese, Malaysian and Italian restaurants near my parents home where there are no significant emigre populations nearby.

Besides, turks, italians, portuguese, french, spanish, greek, etc... are really food proud countries, because they have food. I mean, they know how to prepare it.

the u.k. is getting better at this as people have travelled more and the food porn on the telly means people will tend not to put up with lower standards.

    that's not worth a response.

  • Sorry. Forgot English Breakfast. (Which I love).

  • Yasy333 made them.

just looked at yasy's Noice!! i agree that the uk is behind when it comes to good food compared to our continental friends but there are some classic britsish dishes, not only fish and chips and a full english. see the shooters sandwich ;P nom

  • I love Haggis.

  • And faggots.

  • You got a stammer?

    nope, i just think like that ( i type why i'm thinking :/ )

Sounds good to me, as long as we're batting second!

But you have to admit, to be truely awesome the Turks will have to take up cricket.
