Loose fit chainring!

  • just got a Token 144bcd chainring for my SR cranks but theres a .7mm gap all around between the ring and where it makes contact with the crank spiders, I had to carefully allign the holes.

will the chainring bolts hold it perfectly in place or will it move after a while?

  • Bump. i've got this problem with a pro-lite chainset and token chainring - I'm assuming its a problem with the token rings being undersized/badly machined and if i go for another brand i wont run into the same problem

  • I ended up using it with a stronglight track 2000 chainset with its integrated bolts so it was simple to align, the teeth some to wear quickly, lots of people say positive things about this chainring, all its got going for it is its cheap(at wiggle anyway)

  • Just do the bolts up to correct tightness and it should be fine. The gap should enable you to centre the chainring a bit in case you are having tight spots on your chain.
