Anyone running Magura hydraulic rim brakes on a Pompino? I tried a search on here and on google but it didn't come up with much.

Don't Maguras need the bosses to be at rim height?
-
• #1958
No there are systems that require dedicated bosses but there's also ones that bolt right onto regular V-brake/canti bosses.

These are HS66, no? I thought the HS77 were the road calipers.
-

What dammit posted are road calipers... Silly dammit...
-
• #1962
Could be HS77 levers with HS33 calipers, actually. Correct me if I'm wrong. and sell me a pair for cheaper than this if you have one.

Not sure if you've seen Colin recently, but he's running a front magura on his polo bike, regular v/canti bosses
-
• #1964
You'd be running drop bars on a Pompino thought would you not?
-
• #1965
Unless it's polo, of course

This is making me remember lusting after some fluro-yellow magura hydraulic brakes for my MTB in the 90's

I was running an HS33 on mine. Whatchoo wanna know about it?
-
• #1970
Nothing specific I guess... I have a pair of fluro yellow HS33s and a carbon cx fork laying around and my current commutter conversion is getting ready for retirement. Just thinking out loud.
What made you get rid of the HS33? -

are hydro drop bar brake levers expensive? is there a cheap tektro?
-
• #1973
There are currently none in production, however both SRAM and Shimano are working to bring some to the market- probably for a fairly chilling price however.

What made you get rid of the HS33?Wanting drops.
Plus I never felt the HS33 made up for the extra faff involved with hydraulics by providing that much more stopping power. I've done a good job of setting up the cheapo Tektro cantis I now have fitted and the rear (I only had the HS33 on the rear, teamed it with a Deore V) works just as well.
