They were bemused by my unnanounced arrival, by bike, seeimg that I only usually make it about 3 times a year by train!
...
Saw several buzzards wheeling through sunny skies, too.
Ahh that's brilliant. good on you for riding too
...
hopefully not circling our intrepid heroes hungrily!

Nice ride out to Garston this morning guys ...
... There really is nothing like 5 hours restless sleep and 40-odd miles to start the day.
Was a pleasure Russell. You judged your turning point north of Watford just right then.

Anyone heard from the guys today? Just wondering how they are getting on after the mammouth ride yesterday!
Also, great idea about the en route donations - love it! -

We're doing 140 miles today, done 65 at 12 and having a shitty pub lunch, but enough to get us going.
This morning was hard as we got hill straight away, but after 10am, we were flying at 15mph after finding our legs.
Dan did better than me at hill because of having a much lighter bike, even with gigantic saddlebag, but I managed.
Hopefully will finish the ride by 6-7pm.

Great to hear - that's way over halfway
-

111 miles, the last 10 miles we average 24mph on downhill.
It's all about eating and drinking at the right moment, according to Dan.

Glad to hear my hill climbing prowess is nothing to do with the thousands of miles of training I've put in and actually down to my bike.
:D
End of day two...hilly as fuck. Stayed on the big ring and seated all day though and didn't feel really challenged until we hit a couple of 18%ers at the end which gave us a taste of the day coming up in cumbria. Feeling pretty good considering. 286 miles down...85 to go

Quite the opposite actually, massive hill on first 10 miles, then flat till cumbria of which we'll encounter hill.
Dan birthday today, so we're celebrating it with coffee and biscuit, let the good time rolls!

We done 3 centuries since London, which mean only 65 to go, despite the hill, we kept our speed up at 15mph, Fucking beautiful here, just a shame we have to power through.

Good to hear the updates, Ed. Superb work so far, guys. All through yesterday in the heavy rain in London I wondered how you were progressing
I'm guessing you're at halfway for on this final day?- you'll soon be raising a glass of Theakstons to celebrate completeing and then another couple for Dan's birthday.

Damn, the bed is So good.
After you left, it was 114 miles, however it get harder as our speed dropped a lots and finding it hard work just to push the pedal, I'm a little worse than Dan but we made it to Derby and found new energy in our legs to carry on.
This was hard because not only it's quite a lots of miles to cover but also new terrain doesn't helped.
Dual carrigeway were the easiest, pop in primary position and we'll be fine, hardest were the small.hill we encourage regularly especially when the moulton does not climb well but exceeded in everything else, sadly its the hillclimb I need.
Off to sleep, got to wake up at 5am and do 120 miles before reaching the b&b
John can you upload the photo of me and Dan please?
