New key is in the post (I had one spare anyway but feel like backup is always required)
Fantastic service.

A backup does sound sensible. I'll need to pick up a spare set.

Does anyone know of an existing Atomic22 bolt that would be compatible with the Surly "Ultra New Hubs"?
This document suggests the bolt on the Surly hub is M6 x 1.0mm:
http://surlybikes.com//uploads/downloads/SUR_Ultra_New_Axle_Kit_instructions.pdfAtomic22 offer security bolts for Aerospoke, Chris King, Goldtec, Hope, Mack, Paul and Royce - I'm hoping one of them would use the same bolt as the Surly Ultra New.
I have fired off an email to Atomic 22 but thought I'd also ask in here in case anyone can help.

Would be interested to know if you get a response or figure it out, would be tempted if it's cheaper than getting their front QR conversion and whacking that in.

Here's the response:
We don't currently support the Surly Ultra New. At a glance, it looks
as if the Ultra falls outside any of the existing developed solutions
and the specifications in the link you sent suggest it requires
detailed consideration/more information. We've contacted Surly to
assist with various questions we have regarding their design.Hopefully they'll have something in the near future.

Anyone using an Atomic22 seatpost binder lock with a recessed bolt?
-
• #159
I know its hard to get hold of atomic 22 guys but if I use their online shop to buy standard stuff (4 piece tribe) that should be fine right?
What is the reason to go Atomic 22 instead of Pitlock?
-
• #160
I made a purchase on their website (for the above seat binder bolt) over a month ago and never heard anything from them, no response to the email I sent last week, nothing.
I like to think that buying tribe should be relatively off-the-peg, but who knows.
Edit: My bolts turned up the day after making this post.

cheers dom .. might just go pitlock; sjs, evans have them in stock.

Atomic22 make pitlock look like a bodge job imo, there isn't a better system around.
I would be getting a few more bolts for my track bike if I had the cash around.

Any functional advantage? Don't really care about aesthetic as long as they work similarly .. I want both wheels, seatpost and stem (ahead bolt) secured so I can carry only 1 lock. Might even get some obscure nuts for stem faceplate. Needs to be locked in London.

A22 are individually unique, which Pitlock aren't. They work similarly, but Atomic 22 is basically the zenith of the concept.
You don't need both wheels if you're taking a d-lock IMO. I take a mini-d and have my front wheel, stem cap and seatpost secured. I'd take a saddle-clamp bolt and a stem bolt too, but nothing else. Never had any problems in 3-4 years.

This is exactly how my two bikes that get locked up in town get secured (though I use an NYfagh min d lock).
Most bolts still need some cutting down etc so a still not direct off the peg items. They have been slow at times to respond to emails, but they finally got in touch with me after a month last night.

Any suggestions apart from the above for secure skewers?
-
• #167
I saw they took a while to get back to you James, was this after you had bought something or a from a general enquiry?
I've had one response in three weeks and still no sign of my seatpost clamp in the post. Their customer service is useless.

Products are great - I have been a satisfied customer since 2012. Likewise, though, I have now been waiting a month for Patrick and Ayantika to respond to emailed queries. I'd like to get some additional bits to fit my existing key but won't order until I get an answer. They have a 'pls bear with us, we're busy' statement on their site, but a month without even acknowledging 'ready to buy' existing customers is very poor.

It took a while to get a response but they did follow up and make me a spare key.
I think their stuff is well worth waiting for.
-
• #170
Yes, the stuff is indeed excellent. That's why I'm prepared to pursue it. I've just placed an order for a new skewer this morning (03/10). Let's see how long it takes to arrive.
-

Mine arrived this morning!
Be prepared for weeks of wait for replies to emails, or just no replies.
However, even upon initial inspection the quality is superb. -

Ordered some security bolts for my hubs and I just got a refund without any explanation after a month of waiting. Did anyone experience this? Have sent an email asking for a reason...
-
• #173
I placed an order at the beginning of October, had an initial emailing asking for details on a couple of sizes, then have heard nothing since, despite attempts to contact them.
Have had to resort to getting my credit card provider to reverse the payment.

Hmmmm that doesn't sound good :(

Shame, was thinking of ordering from them again aswell.

Oof, hope you get that sorted. They were super fast to get a replacement key to me in the past, next-day fast.
This time round with my new order, I picked up some spares.
