    top left: Pisti's best mate?

  • try frith stores? or simlar sunglasses and change lenses?

    This.

It's what I did for my TDs Its lke getting an ENO hub as it opens up so much more frames to you that DO appear for sale and on the net for at cheaper rates.

  • free tesco eye test on friday.

  • Glasses are confusing, I have 4 pairs. One says "Jeff Banks" on the side but it's not my name! another pair claim to be "Police" but I'm not a copper.
Also have some Kangol ones with transitions lenses.
I bet Jeff Banks doesn't really sit there drawing pairs of glasses and selling the designs to opticians, he's too busy presenting "the clothes show" for starters.

  • ..............blah,blah............... he's too busy presenting "the clothes show" for starters.

RPM is old school it's official

    this page was last updated.........

i was listening to the radio five live this morning and the female co presenter had never heard of the band ub40.

  • I wish I didn't.

  • Seeing as cycling is slightly sporty and my brother-in-law is an optician, you might be interested in this.
He specialises in improving the vision, even by tiny amounts of athletes to improve their performance. In this case, the Northants cricket team

Only trouble is he's in Essex, and he's not cheap.
I got my glasses off the internet instead for £16 and £30.

I specialise in folding collars of polo shirts down. Service swap?

  • @Neil: Just swallow it and fork out on a pair of Lindbergs (rimless and light). They're expensive but are neutral on the face, you cannae go wrong.

  • Having heavy rims was rather the point- 90%+ of the time I wear lenses, for the times I do not I rather wanted some glasses that said "I'm a pair of glasses"

  • What sort of dosh are you talking for Lindbergs? they look awesome*

    *expensive

  • £255

  • Hmm, bit more than I can afford right now

  • Me too.

  • They're nice, though(t).

  • By the way, my wife spent more on a pair of reading glasses. And lost them.

  • My current glasses cost £215 approximately 12 years ago, so worked out on a cost per year basis they've not been a terrible burden.

However the proscription is now rather out of date, and one side is held together with wire where an ex-girlfriend sat on them.

  • I dig what you're after but you should be as comfy as possible in them first and foremost.

Re the Lindbergs, there are loads of companies that do variants of rimless glasses far cheaper.

    Again spec savers 2-4-1 deal:

  • I always manage to brake rimless ones.

  • ^^ they're broken, too :-(

  • I'm liking the ones old Jeff Banks slaved over a drawing board for. They are very light and comfortable. First pair of metal frames I've tried in over ten years. I want the Lindbergs now though.

Who else finds a combo of different glasses and contact lenses for different days/situations works for them?

  • I always manage to brake rimless ones.

I'm sure they shouldn't be rimless, that's the problem. Brakeless FTW.

  • ^^That would be my ideal, drawer full of them. But different glasses really throw me off, despite same strength lenses. When I get new specs it takes a few days to adjust to the way they sit on my face (euph), view of rims through the eyes, weight, comfort etc. I feel like I'm swimming for a while, or walking pissed, until they're comfortable. Not sure I could be naffed with that each time I swapped, desirable as it is.
